My last frame was spotted first guess so I went for something more open to interpretation. You guys guessed some older games first which is what I was going for, the higher res graphics (tiny detail background stars) in the next frames were meant as hints.

Well played sir, well played indeed !

Well shit, I popped my head in here earlier in the week for the first time in months and saw frame 2 and thought ‘Blade Runner?’ but just hit the back button! Shoulda posted! ;-)

I brainstormed quite a few minutes over that “Capybara in space… Capybara in space” before it struck me.

This one I discovered only a couple of days ago. Very generic looking, very generic name… Good luck, I guess!

Orbiter?

Earth 2160

Millennium

Kerbal Space Program

One of the guesses is very, very close.
But you haven’t got the proper platform yet.

Space Simulator for the iPad?

Indeed, @Juan_Raigada!

I had no idea this thing existed until a few days ago, when a friend taught me about it. It is pretty incredible, despite the various UI glitches, bugs and other issues, the game is a genuine effortless way to experience an Orbiter-like simulation, with in-game documentations and some awesome soundscapes as extras -. It even affords to run most scenarios on aging hardware. The interface may seem crowded but after a few minutes experiencing with it, you’ll find it surprisingly elegant (anything can be moved, resized, hidden or revealed in a matter of a few touches).
I checked and it seems the game is due for a Steam release soon, although the crowd there will probably be annoyed by the very rough edges of this tiny monolith.

Do you construct ships like in Kerbal? Because that CSM looks exactly like a cobbled together thing you make there, including the terrible solar panel placement. And it also looks nothing like the real CSM.

No, you do not construct ships, but the picture is the (projected) Altair lander, not the Apollo CSM.

Weee, in before @Kyosho had a chance to poke!!! ;P

Today I bring you one of the best games ever made.

Panzer General 2?

Such an obvious trap. This is Dodonpachi Daiojo Black Label.

It’s neither!!!

Edit: for the record, for WW2 wargames I like brainier stuff like War in the East, and for vertical shmups, I prefer Shinobu Yagawa’s output (battle Garegga and Battle Bakkraid) to that of Tsuneki Ikeda. My favorite Cave shmups are Ibara and Dangun Feveron for that reason.

It definitely looks like the roads and hexes from the series.

Fantasy General?

Oh, I was only mentionning that farce of a shooter because the Dodonpachi series got the honeycomb motif painted all over it, and bees invented wargames.
But as you said, R8zing over Cave any day!

Edit: I just zoomed in. That hex is huge.

Yes!!!

Man, I love this game. None of the “spiritual successors” quite captured the same mood.
