That’s my approach to most games: I hardly ever focus on the min-max aspect, hell, it’s rare I ever get far with crafting in any single player game. Does that mean I sometimes hit a wall because I’m underpowered or don’t get to see everything in the game? Probably. But I get enjoyment, nonetheless.
Kristina, FFX may not be a bad one to start with (good combat system and story), but you go through a series of shrines in the game that require completing puzzles which I did not find enjoyable and are atypical of JRPGs. I enjoyed FF XII even more but that’s also very different for a JRPG, but judging from the games you’ve listed, you may like it.
