Screw Villaraigosa - glad he got stomped.

I’m not really familiar with the guy, but can we come together as a nation and say fuck the Lakers, at least?
Nothing to do with the election, just as a general sentiment.
My understanding is he was an OK mayor but he made some enemies down here too. I don’t follow local politics as I should, though.
So say we all (except for Lakers fans)

I have no problem with that.
What’s wrong with the Lakers? Don’t they have a habit of winning games and championships multiple times in a row?

Have you been in a Thai prison since 2010?
They’re like the [North] Stars: they never should have left us, those inconstant, perfidious homewreckers.
I liked the Lakers in their Kobe/Shaq threepeat era. Horry, Fisher, Fox… good lineup. But I am an Angeleno…
The last time I gave basketball, or the Lakers, any real attention was when a kid at my jr high school wore a shirt like this just about every day:

I was an Abdul-Jabbar fan and loved the Lakers in those days, and during the Magic days. But somewhere after that I learned to hate Kobe and the Lakers fans became basketball’s version of Yankee fans, feeling entitled.
Weird thing is I went to a Warriors game every year, because I could get tickets, for many years. And other than watching Purvis Short score as many points as he could, they were horrible. It is so weird to see them winning championships now.

That’s an awesome shirt! It probably didn’t come across, but the Thai prison thing is just a /r/nba meme stemming from this. That thread was epic, but unfortunately the OP deleted it.
The Lakers are awesome (well they were for much of last century.) They will raise again, they just need a good coach and new superstar like Kobe, Jerry West, Kareem, Shaq, or Wilt

Oh is that all? Just a good coach and generational talent?
Spoken like a Lakers fan! ;)
My friend is a big Lakers fan. The last few years have been rough for him.

Good.
(I don’t actually care, for the record)
You must admit that would be a pretty good start…
Hey, look at where the Celtics were for many many years after the big 4 (plus Danny) broke up. Of course it didn’t help that their next star-in-the-making drugged himself to death.

The Lakers are like the Yankees though in that their fans believe that just because of who they are players should flock to play there.
Of course I kinda hope LeBron becomes a Laker so disliking both of them becomes easier.
