At any rate, setting that mentally ill shitstain aside, Virginia has a primary coming up.
The Old Dominion seemed a fairly reliably red state at the statewide level through the late 1990s and early aughts. Even when a guy like Chuck Robb got elected as a Democrat to a senate seat, he was about as conservative a Democrat as you’d find on the Senate side in the Capital.
But man. Times change, or the Viriginia GOP is just in free-fall. The three guys vying for the Republican nomination are:
An avowed neo-confedate in Corey Stewart. Stewart was so gobshite racist that he got himself booted as state chairman in the Trump campaign in 2016.
Then there’s Nick Freitas. He was a smalltime player for the nomination, and all he really had going for him was being on the wrong side of the popular adoption of Medicaid expansion in the state as a delegate in Richmond. Thankfully he revealed his own state of crazy by taking a series of strong pro-gun stances in speeches in the wake of Parkland school shooting.
Finally, there’s E. W. Jackson, who is happy to tell you about his homophobia and the need for legislation to protect straight people from the gays. In a state that had a fairly rural district elect Danica Roem in November, that’s probably not going to do him much good.
And so…Tim Kaine, who seemed a little vulnerable at the beginning of 2017, is going to face an unelectable candidate in November, and barring the discovery of naked dead teenagers in his garage should hold his seat.
God, the posters here are far more vile and far more angry than many of the people they demonize. Just genuinely mean, cruel, nasty, presumably older and bitter people, through and through – relentlessly mean, juvenile people.
