I mean…I guess I’m a centrist compared to a bunch of folks on this forum, but…
Fuck that. I’d vote for her if I could.
So would I. That’s a hell of an ad. And she’s right when she says it comes down to “people vs. money.” Strictly speaking, it’s the takeover of the economy by the financial sector, which has become the master instead of the servant. “The system” should exist for the people, not the other way around.
Just because a candidate is running primarily for UHC or against establishment (read: donor) politics doesn’t make them an extremist, fringe nut like Brat (et al.)
It will be interesting to see how many of them donate to Ocasio in the general. I’d guess Google will, no idea about the others.

I’m going to guess Sandberg will as well.
Yeah if she is representative of the new democratic “tea party” then sign me up.

I can’t wait to take the Soros-funded vote bus to NYC and vote for her this November!
And just so we’re clear: Ocasio-Cortez went to Boston University and earned degrees in Economics and International Relations. She also was part of Ted Kennedy’s staff for a bit (working immigration issues), and taught at the National Hispanic Institute. The bartending gig was a side job to help make ends meet for her family. She’s kind of great.
Plausible. On the other hand, even in a shoo-in, candidates can do a lot with donations. She might want to use them to fund anti-Trump or anti-corporate-Dem-wing ads. She might think it was cute to use Facebook donations to support a platform that would wind up regulating Facebook. It would appeal to me, anyway… :)
And before we read too much into this, just something to keep in mind:
I suppose this thread is where I should put it, but I was thinking how Democratic politicians really shouldn’t be concerned about the “civility” issue. Firstly nobody is going to change their vote based on that and secondly if 2016 showed anything its that angry people vote more than content ones and boy Trump sure is angering Democratic voters every day.
I think that’s fairly spot on. I think as we get closer to August and September, we should see the Democrats pushing all their chips into the “We’re a check on Trump” pot.

Yeah, that’s a terrific ad, and she looks like a great candidate. “This election is people vs money” is a pretty good line.
