This is the kind of thing I’m talking about.
Nope, though I should say that I haven’t really looked all that hard. I decided a good while back that I was in with El-Sayed, and when I looked at Shri’s positions I found nothing to change my mind. Plus there’s the lack of political experience. Based on what @magnet posted, it doesn’t look like I missed any good news.
Having said that, I’m still worried that Shri will pull votes from El-Sayed, because the electorate is dumb. Shri has a lot more TV ads, saying stuff in there about fixing roads and providing health care and so on. If you’re looking for someone more progressive than Whitmer but aren’t doing actual research, Shri’s the name you’re more likely to find just based on the advertising.

Thanks. At this point I have no desire to get the choice between Shri and Schuette in November, and I feel like there is really only one vote I can cast to help prevent that.
They’re trying to fight on every front. They can’t.

There’s been so much news focus on Alexandria Ocasio Cortez lately, I wonder if the media is losing track of some other really interesting candidates this cycle. Here’s a tweet from one of them this morning:
I love the DNC’s focus on women and veterans this cycle. I am so used to thinking of the Democratic Party as poorly run, I find myself surprised by how fantastic some of these first-time candidates are.

Well, you need to bear in mind that we have a whole generation of fairly young military vets now, who have strong military cred from fighting in wars for the past 20 years, but who are GenX’ers instead of the boomers.
I think that’s where we’re getting folks like McGrath, Kander. and Lamb.
It undercuts the chickenhawks in the GOP who have never worn a uniform in their lives, but talk about how they love the military.
I still think that Kander’s ad where he assembles his rifle blindfolded while talking about how empty the NRA funded attacks on him are was one of the greatest political ads ever.

And yet he still lost. It’s too bad as he would’ve been a great Senator I’m sure. I’m hoping he wins the KC mayoral election, even though we’re planning on moving to the Kansas side when we head there.
She does the humble brag really well.
There has been a terrific increase in female veteran for the Democrat party the last few years.
They have great ads, let’s not forget MJ Hegar’s amazing door ad which is the best of the cycle.

I’m going to support a two or three Democrats this cycle.
My top 4 are Clair McCaskill just because I think she is the most vulnerable and she has been tough on Putin as Democrat even when it wasn’t fashionable.
Beto O’ Rourke getting rid of Ted Cruz is high priority for me, plus Beto’s friendship with sane Republican William Hurd is a great thing.
I also think both Amy and MJ are terrific.
The Missouri senate race is a toss-up. The other 3 races are leaning/likely Republican.
@triggercut or others any other suggestion on moderate Democrats in races where $500 would help?

To be fair, there was context that people tend to miss:
@Strollen, you’ve got the ones I’d say already covered. And I think Amy McGrath has a really good shot at beating Barr.
Moving on, there’s also this:
Apropos of nothing, this is why I’m rooting for a former Republican in the MN Senate primary. He speaks out on environmental issues (not just climate change.)
Actually my statement was a compliment not a criticism. I think it is important not only for politicians but leaders of all type to become good at doing humble brags. Amy did it in a text book fashion, look at how cool this reenlistment ceremony was, I had a cool one also, but not this impressive.

Painter’s a good guy. He’s ethical.
BTW, it’s election day! Some interesting primaries around the country, but the biggie is the OH-12 Special election. It’s a Leans GOP state, but the polling has been close and the Republican there hasn’t had the best closing 48 hours.

I voted! At the library!
On the way to the library:
There’s some fairly interesting election in Washington today, based off their top two voting law. Any insights None?

Last night my wife and I went to a panel where five mostly qualified candidates were empaneled to discuss the topic Why One Of Them Should Replace Keith Ellison as Representative in Congress. They ranked differently in polish and credentials. One dipshit was antagonistic to the crowd (he was a former Republican and apparently just wants to be famous, and it was weird to hear him drop anti-immigrant barbs where three of his fellow candidates are immigrants, and odd to watch him not explicitly condemn the problem of anti-Semitism when the event was hosted at a synagogue.)
I was hoping Ilhan Omar would sweep me off my feet. She did shake my hand, but her answers to the moderator’s questions were a little loosey-goosey and lacking the required brevity. I think she fell to second place in my brain behind former state speaker of the house Margaret Anderson Kelliher. But the primary in this state is still like a week away, I’ll need to do more research. I was basically impressed with four out of the five candidates anyway, but Frank Drake can pound sand.

Looking at the picture and your description of what he said it is pretty obvious which one is Frank Drake.
We have had some weird characters run in the last few years, but I have no problem with that because they really have no hope of winning. Of course, everyone thought that about Trump as well.
