I think Polis wins here in Colorado, but damn he isn’t an ideal candidate for the Dems in Colorado. Already labeled as a ‘Boulder liberal’ which is an easy attack here, and the rural areas are not going to go for him because of that and his energy policies (fracking is a ground zero issue in the state). Going to have to swing hard in Denver, Boulder, Pueblo, Fort Collins and a few of the resort towns on the I70 corridor… because everyone else is going to hate him.

The good news is that the GOP here continues to run turds for Governor, so they have a guy named Walker Stapleton running, who has become a full-throated Trump supporter and hitched himself to that wagon… which is an interesting strategy because Colorado overall HATES Trump and has been trending away from Republicans over the past 10 years.

The ideal candidate in Colorado for the Dems is basically John Hickenlooper. Moderate, pro-business, friendly to energy, and a seemingly willingness to work against his party and reach out to the other party from time to time.

Still, I think that the anti-Trump enthusiasm will be feverish here in Colorado and turnout will be extraordinarily high in a high turnout state where population explosion along the front range is driving the state from purple to blue. That should carry Polis I think.

Cook has moved 3 races from “Leans Republican” to tossup. They’ve moved one race (Carlos Curbelo defending in Florida) from “Tossup” to “Leans Republican”.

Playing field for Democrats keeps getting bigger.

Solid defeats for the Vichy Left in Minnesota yesterday. Good stuff. I’m pleased, even though several candidates I voted for didn’t win - there were 3 races where my candidate was like 5-10% better than the eventual winner, but I’m happy to vote for them in the general.

God I hope he’s right. If the GOP retains control of the house, Trump will be even further unconstrained, and we’ll see some permanent damage to our republic beyond what we’ve already seen.

Man, California is crazy - that is a big, blue state

That the GOP even has a 25% chance of retaining control is just batshit fucking insane.

That was the same chance that Trump would win the presidency!

It all depends on the people getting the fuck off the couch, registering in time and voting in a non-presidential election year.

…and not voting for dicks.

I have a feeling this woman is a member of the wrong party - wtf.

Yep that’s racist. Out she goes, time to replace her.

She lost the primary on Tuesday, so she’s already on the way out (something the article doesn’t bother to mention until paragraph six.)

Excellent. That kind of language doesn’t come out from nowhere. I am glad they have a better choice then.

Not so fast. Does she have a funny graph anywhere?

Reality check. The democrats will not retake the house. Bet on it.

If so, then the American electorate will have twice abdicated its sacred duty to protect the Republic from demagoguery, corruption, the erosion of its institutions, and undue foreign influence. And the second time around it will be with eyes wide open and all the dangers and problems laid bare.

In other words, we will have deserved our fate. So fuck us in the ear. Fuck us in the other ear.

If that happens. It won’t, I dare to hope.

Eh. Former chairwoman of the Manhattan Republican Party publishes article positive to Republicans, film at 11:00.

You should assume that the GOP will control the house unless you do everything you possibly can.
