Not directed at you, except to say: sure they can.
As philosophy professor Kate Manne told Vox’s Sean Illing, “misogyny is not about male hostility or hatred toward women — instead, it’s about controlling and punishing women who challenge male dominance. Misogyny rewards women who reinforce the status quo and punishes those who don’t.”
Maybe he didn’t. But his ex-girlfriend releasing her medical records, which don’t put him in a good light, and then responding to the question of whether there are other allegations by saying essentially “Women. They’ll say anything, amirite?” is a terrible response.
Maybe he didn’t do it.
But he wants to run for office and represent the Democratic Party. This ain’t a court of law. There’s no presumption of innocence. He needs to go away.
NBC/Marist coming with their own Florida numbers at the top of the hour.
I’ll do my part for Nelson and Gillum. Too bad little Marco isn’t on the ballot this time around.

Florida looking good.

How many Puerto Ricans are newly registered in Florida?
RichVR

From what I’ve seen, not many. They’re struggling to find jobs and homes. Voting is the least of their worries.
Instead of anecdote, some data:
Short answer: unprecedented numbers. More complicated answer: but no one’s sure how they’re going to break on their votes just yet.

That’s the article I was using as a reference.

It seems mind blowing that they wouldn’t come out against the GOP after this, but whatever. Nothing matters anymore.
I would imagine as much.
We certainly saw a huge turnout in the primary, on an election day that typically isn’t one that brings out new voters of any demographic group, but seems to especially lag with Latinos in some communities.
I would normally say “It’s not a demographic group to put unreasonable hope in”, but then I remember Obama and 2012.
Of more recent vintage, post primary:
The interesting challenge in Florida is that older Latinx voters are likely to be Cuban. And they absolutely will be showing up in November, and they vote Republican. And demographers in the state election statistics offices don’t ask whether a voter is of Cuban-American descent or Puerto Rican.

We’ve got so many members of the GOP and Trump supporters who literally do not think Puerto Ricans are even Americans at all.
To me, it seems like that kind of thing would be profoundly motivating.
If it’s not, then i guess folks get what they deserve.

That article is ludicrous. The TLDR is that older Cubans favor the Republican. OK.
Forget it, Jake. It’s Politico. No outlet covers politics with less nuance. You’d almost think from that article that Nelson is way behind instead of slightly leading.
Tom Steyer pledging $5m for Andrew Gillum’s gubernatorial campaign in Florida, aimed squarely at registering and getting out the vote with young people and persons of color.
This is probably really bad news for Bill Nelson.
Teacher’s strikes repercussions in Oklahoma. Kobach problems in Kansas.
