This game will ruin friendships and marriages alike, if you let it. This is a Mario-Party-style game on the original Wii that is very literally programmed to sabotage whoever is in first place and bump up the rolls of those trailing behind. The fix is in. The dice are loaded. The game absolutely hates every single one of you and wants to destroy every bond you have with every other player.
I first learned of this game here on Qt3 about 11 years ago, when my own marriage was unknowingly put to the test. And very recently I discovered the huge amount of money the old Wii discs are selling for ($110 compared to the $27 I paid back in 2009). I could be rich, if I were to sell. Rich, I tell you.
But I haven’t yet sold the disc because I’m not sure the buyer would know what they’re getting into, and I don’t want to hear news reports about some sort of violent family brawl I caused.
WOAH, that was a semi-wild guess. I didn’t think anyone would evoke Dokapon Kingdom these days. I played it on PS2 after seeing it on some best-of-PS2 lists. Never did actually finish a whole game (playing with my kids, who were young at the time), but it’s a fascinating and weird thing that I still think of fondly.
Hm, well, let’s see what I can dig up next.
