Aah, this is why I was familiar with it: after playing Lands of Lore some time ago (it’s fuzzy, but I remember posting my progress here), I tried the sequel. It didn’t grab me as much, expectedly.

I absolutely love the first Lands of Lore. It’s a great continuation, design-wise, of everything they learned from Eye of the Beholder 1 and 2. Simplified and streamlined in many ways, and with a more interesting character-centric storyline. The second game, Guardian’s of Destiny did something wholly new and different with its gameplay, artstyle, pretty much everything. Everything except the lore and world, really. And even that, they seemed to make a lot of changes to. I need to replay it. It’s just a bit hard to get into these days. Very clunky early 3D engine with mostly pre-rendered (or as mentioned, photographed) 2D billboards, along with FMVs. Dat FMV craze, tho, amirite? Still, cool game, but I’ve clearly forgotten way more than I remember. The third game, IIRC, went fully 3D and was generally disliked by most people. However, to me, it felt less clunky and was a bit better gameplay-wise. Story and whatnot, I guess maybe it kind of ruined what was left of the property. EA gobbled up Westwood and it got pushed out early. The story of many-a-game at the time.
God, I wish they’d make a new Lands of Lore.
Anyway, eep, sorry for the delay. Here we go:
Edit: Also, as a hint for this one, if you think you know what game it is by part of it, but another part of it doesn’t make sense, guess it anyway. This one’s a bit tricky.
Nah it’s obviously SNK 40th Anniversary Collection!
Ah, so that’s what LoL stands for. I’ve been misunderstanding that on the internet for decades.

Nope to those. Glad you’ve understood what I meant. Decided to show you an edge this time to make it even more clear.
Also, kerzain, there’s been about 10 different Genesis collections over the years (all with slightly different games included) starting all the way back with the Sega Saturn. But seeing as this game isn’t on any of them, it doesn’t matter. :P
the key and statue and grass are defintely Jim Powerish, but the rest doesnt make sense: it lacks colours, the leg of the main character is blue and what collection could that game be part of? Loriciels’ awkward PC Engine ports?

@Left_Empty It is indeed Jim Power -The Lost Dimension. Specifically, the updated SNES version played on Steam which has the frame around it. Piko Interactive did a Kickstarter for it a while back. The Steam version gives you the option upon launching it of playing the original PC version, the original SNES version, or the updated SNES version. I…haven’t really played any of them yet.
Anyway, You’re up!
I have never heard of Jim Power. Do they drink Nozz-A-La in your worlds too?

No, we drink Quanta Cola here. It’s the energizing drink with radioactive Quanta extract. The drink for today’s youth. Be in. Be cool. Drink Quanta Cola.
Kyosho cheated: he posted a Frecnh game.
Had no idea there were a Super Nintendo version, that there had been a kickstarter, that it was on Steam, but most importantly, that they altered the flatfaced capped original character!

I thought the game was bad at the time. Turrican done quite wrong, and I already didn’t think Turrican was any good to begin with.

I confess I had no idea it was a French game. I’ve only ever known it as the kinda bad SNES game that could give some people motion sickness. This is what the scrolling in the SNES version released back in the day was like:
Quality idea.
I’m running into technical difficulties capturing what I wanted, I’ll try to think of something else but if anybody wants to take a turn in the meantime.
Oh my god, my eyes.
Hey it looks like he’s killing little Doomguys.

@Left_Empty Poke. No one’s taken it yet. If you’re still unable, I will summon our pinch hitter.
I have had really bad luck: I’ve tried 4 consecutive picks and failed to capture any of them. Somebody take the turn, I feel down :(
Edit: Oh wait actually one was saved, phew! BRB
