And there we go!
It is indeed Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book, the game that introduced me to the Atelier series (and also the game I mentioned just a few comments ago in this thread). It’s a very heartfelt, feel-good series that I’m glad I got the chance to play. Sophie is a pretty solid game, followed by Atelier Firis, Atelier Lydie & Suelle (my favorite in the series so far) and finally Ryza, with Ryza 2 already announced as the next one in the franchise.
By the way, I loved the Recettear guess, because it is oddly similar to Sophie in many ways, particularly in terms of charm and tone. Anyway, I recommend the game if you ever need something to help you come out of depression, or better appreciate the joy of being alive. ;)
Take it away, @Gigglemoo !
“Barrel!”
I still have Totori & Meruru unopened to play someday if I need to cheer up. Love those games. :)

Taru!
Ah, the equivalent in the Atelier series to chocobos and Sid/Cid in the Final Fantasy series! Now I feel dumb for not mentioning that. Glad you did, though! You have good taste in upbeat games. ;)

I concur.
Uh, how about, say, a Paper Mario game? The new one maybe… Origami King or something along those lines.
Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Simulator

I see lordkosc is now vying for MVP 2020.
Um it’s like a cloud or something.
Not a Paper Mario or Dream Daddy.

Ha, @Rock8man was writing that the same time I was, but got there first. OK then, change mine to Rock of Ages 2.

Rock of Ages (2012 film)?
Noperino. Rock of Ages was a really good guess, not a marble racer.
