Fluids of all sorts get into places you wouldn’t expect. The best example I ever had was a chem lab where we synthesized fluorescein. For weeks after, every time we wiped down the benches they turned green in spots.

I actually started doing it years ago because my bathroom door doesn’t latch and my cat could open it.
Have you ever tried to clean piss off a cat as it runs around because it had to stick it’s head in the toilet to see what was going on?
Twice was once more than I should’ve had to deal with it and I just started sitting down and kept doing so even though the cat is gone and the new one is too stupid to figure out doors.
The cleanup concerns were a nice upshot as well, though.

I’ve been to conferences at this hotel. A colleague of mine was there just a couple months ago.
Odd the article had nothing to say about the fate of the poor fish.

NY Times reports that the temp (outside) was 19F and they all froze to death.
Yeah, apart from chucking them in the river next door and hoping for the best (which might not have been good for the local wildlife) I doubt any would have survived even if it hadn’t been freezing.
Oh, I know they were doomed. I was just sad for them. I’ve lived in Berlin but I don’t think that hotel or at least that fish tank was there when I did. I certainly had not heard of it.
WTF. There’s no security camera footage of the moment it burst?
This does seem like a case of hydrodynamics at work. A crime of physics if you will!
