Honest question: are they fit for kids? I remember my parents taking me and my few nerd-buddies to one when we were like 12 or something and it didn’t seem especially “adult”. I saw an ad for one a week or two ago on the subway–I think it was actually that same one, King Richard’s Faire–and I thought maybe I could take the kids and give my wife a day to herself or something. I know nothing beyond what I remember from 20+ years ago, and now I’m doubting the feasibility of this idea.

My experience is that, while there may be cleavage, they are never overly adult. That stuff happens at the after parties. I would say they are kid friendly. Face painting is a thing. Kids like that.

Not so much “WTF” as “About fucking time” but here we go.

What is a Kiwifarms? Or am I better off not knowing?

I’ve been to one as recently as 5 years back and don’t remember anything along the lines of the “boob” stuff being discussed here - it was very kid friendly and mostly involved a lot of food and drink (including homemade root beers that were excellent), archery, axe throwing, jousting, and a lot of craft selling. I can only speak to the local iteration, I suppose, but I wouldn’t think twice about taking my kid to that.

An offspring of 4chan that was, among other things, trying to spam an LGBTQ+ suicide hotline out of existence.

Ren Faires are, in general, totally family friendly. They’ll occasionally have late night events where they have more risque content, but those are well communicated (and usually require 21+, since drinking is involved.)

Almost every Faire will have some kid specific content, where you go on quests or get knighted by the Queen, or meet fairies or some such. But even outside that, all the content is intended to be family friendly. There will be some very fake swordplay stabbing in the jousting match, and shows may have the occasional “bawdy” joke that goes over the kids head entirely. The shows are usually designed to play to the cheap seats, so lots of yelling and dad jokes and call and response stuff that kids can take part in.

In my experience, the performers all love kids because they really buy in.

The cleavage is more of a meme than anything else. And well, sometimes it’s a kind of a feminist anti-fat shaming body positivity project. You’ll see significantly more skin during a day at the beach.

Take your kids, you’ll have fun. The worst thing that happens is you’ll have to explain what a “wench” is.

Looks like this is a fast developing story:

My understand is kiwifarms spawned from 4chan after they instituted a no-doxing rule. So people so bad they were run out of 4chan.

Now if only we could as easily cut off their oxygen services…

If you are too reprehensible for fucking 4chan, then you are really a special piece of shit.

It’s not. There’s been a months-long campaign to do this, mostly due to specific threats against trans individuals.

This took way too long. Kiwifarms might be the absolute worst place on the internet outside of the worst 1% of the dark web.

On the other hand it does put all the bad eggs in one place for the authoritieis.

Didn’t know where else to post this

Aside from the “last week” thing being odd, the little bit of his speech quoted was a good reminder of how nice it’s been not having to hear him speak for the past year and a half. The “sir” shit alone had me grinding my teeth.

If that POS avoids jail and somehow gets reelected in 2024, I’m going to have to mute P&R and avoid the news for my own mental health.

You and me both, brother.

You’ll have bigger worries than that.

Also it looks like the kiwifarms filth have found someone new who will take their money, place called fiberhub.

South Korea plans to provide every family with a newborn child a monthly allowance of 1 million won ($740), in its latest move to encourage more births and try to address the world’s lowest fertility rate.

Smart move. And maybe make the PPV porn channel free?

I think porn is still illegal in Korea
