Gaaaaaa! OK, time to watch some mindless entertainment for a while. Maybe some comforting 1990s reruns of Seinfeld, Frasier or Mad About You.

Arizona not going that badly either so far.
NYT Needle back to 50/50 for senate control.

Too early to tell but it appears that the polling was better this cycle I’m not seeing significant divergences. Polls that were showing races tighter than ticks on a hound are bearing out
Dammit, Walker in GA is showing up on Politico as 0.7% ahead with 68% of the vote in.

Holy shit Lauren Boebert looks to be under performing Trump’s numbers and is trailing Frisch
Dems are over performing, except for Florida. Blame me.

It is worse than that, 0.9% ahead with 73% in, according to nyt.

Turning elections into sports events where we watch the score go up… is bad for democracy.

The most important number is 50%. If Walker is ahead, but can’t clear 50% we go to a runoff election.

I feel like democracy has some bigger issues facing it than what numbers we’re watching.

Not sure about you guys, but I have never followed midterm elections except in 2018 and 2022. Australia is a very small country in a region that could easily be dominated by China in the near future. The military alliance with the US and their engagement with the region is really the only thing holding back a grim future. And that’s to not even get started on climate change. So excuse me for caring how many votes climate denying isolationists get!
Maybe an even worse thing for democracy in a country is when people seem to like voting in people who want to destroy said democracy.

While I loathe both Ron DeSantis is having a better night than DJT
And Abbie Spanberger pulled it out

Being interested in the outcome of elections is bad for democracy. Apparently.
Shared pain is lessened, so I’ll bear the burden with you.
Though shared joy is increased, we seem to be lacking at the moment.

I’ve seen enough, Oz is toast on a crudités tray
Yeah, I feel like Georgia’s going to another runoff. I’m not sure Warnock fares much better next month, but I figure giving Walker more time to implode isn’t a bad thing. The polling averages (which were pretty accurate for Georgia last time if memory serves) tended to have Warnock outperforming Abrams by 7 points, so that could be something to look for in either direction if you want to read tea leaves.

Almost all the remaining votes to be counted in Ohio are in the cities - which will lean heavily towards Ryan. It probably won’t be enough to overtake Vance… but the lead is going to shrink significantly and you never know…
