One of the guys in my department was demoing yesterday this neat 3D sketching tool that he developed. He uses a tablet but different perspective techniques to define the 3D position of curves as he sketches them in. It was pretty mesmerizing to watch.
Very interesting. Looking at the website it doesn’t look like it goes into a lot of detail as far as the modeling goes. I guess that quick sketches like that could be used as a base frame and it certainly looks faster than traditional mesh/model making.
I also want his tablet. Kill him and send it to me.
He said it was only about $2k nowadays. That’s below my standard fee for contract killing, so it would be cheaper for you to buy one.
