Back in 2010 Q*bert911 started a thread to catalog all the 3x3’s. He got up to the Edge of Darkness #16 podcast before the thread stopped being updated. As of the Life After Beth podcast there are now 245 3x3’s and it seems like there would be some benefit to a thread that would capture all of the 3x3’s and more.
My goal then for this thread, the first time through the podcasts, is to list the following for each podcast:
Link to the podcast on the website
Teaser on the webpage
Date
Running Time
Opening Song
Closing Song if it’s different from the opening song
Kelly Wand tagline (in some of the early podcasts they call it a catchphrase)
3x3 Topic and who chose it
Time the 3x3 Starts
The forum thread link to that particular 3x3 from the 16th podcast onward.
The actual 3x3 Picks
I am now going to add Box Office Take as well and link that to the Box Office Mojo link. As time permits I am also going to do that for all the 3x3 picks.
I’ve noticed that from around the 18th podcast there are forum threads for each 3x3. So I am going to use those threads to list the 3x3 picks by the guys to help speed things up so that getting the first run through done won’t take forever. This means that I am simply doing a cut and paste of the 3x3 as it has been written by the guys. If you notice any errors please let me know and I’ll fix them up as soon as possible.
Once I’ve caught up to the current podcast I want to go back to each podcast and try and list, for lack of a better term, things of note during the podcast. It could be something interesting, something funny or something really different. I also want to list what Kelly calls each of his synopses. That will take a hell of a lot longer to get through but I am hopeful that I will have the first run through done before the middle of September.
A note about the music. Some of the songs that Tom has chosen for the podcasts are not ones that I am familiar with (I haven’t a clue what song was used for Life After Beth). I’ve used Google, YouTube and Shazam to try and identify the songs and I think for the most part I have gotten the songs correct and when I haven’t been able to identify the song Tom has been very helpful in identifying the song for me. If you notice any errors with any songs, please let me know and I’ll happily make the correction.
Finally, a big thank you to Dingus for the help and encouragement he has provided.
As you all know, 3x3 have spoilers about various movies so read on at your peril.

Teaser: In which Tom Chick, Christien Murawski, and Kelly Wand don’t see eye-to-eye on Where the Wild Things Are. There will be spoilers.
However, if you’re just want to fast-forward to Three by Three, our new feature, jump to the 1:06:00 mark, right after I’m called a “Bastardization Apologist” and before the Britney Spears plays.
Teaser: In which Tom Chick, Christien Murawski, and Kelly Wand ponder the eminently ponderable A Serious Man.
However, if you haven’t seen A Serious Man, don’t listen as we’ll spoil it. Instead, jump to Three by Three, our weekly feature, starting at the 59:15 mark.
Teaser: If you’ve seen The Men Who Stare at Goats, join us for a discussion of what works, what doesn’t work, and what movie you should have seen instead.
If you haven’t seen it, skip forward to the 51:00 mark for this week’s Three by Three.
Teaser: This week, Roland Emmerich breaks more stuff and Tom Chick, Christien Murawski, and Kelly Wand talk about it. Listen to our spoiler-laden discussion of the finer points of 2012.
Alternatively, if you haven’t seen the movie yet and don’t want the experience spoiled, just jump ahead to the 1 hour and 1 minute mark for this week’s 3×3.
Teaser: Tom Chick, Christien Murawski, and Kelly Wand, all huge fans of the Cormac McCarthy The Road, discuss the movie adaptation. A fistfight very nearly breaks out. Well, as close as we’re likely to get to a fistfight.
Haven’t seen The Road? Then skip ahead to this week’s 3×3 at the 53:00 mark: What three movies would you take to a desert island?
Teaser: Tom Chick, Christien Murawski, and Kelly Wand talk about Wes Anderson’s cartoon of Roald Dahl’s book.
Does it work? Is it more Royal Tenenbaums or Life Aquatic? Is there a little Bottle Rocket in there? And what’s the deal with casting famous people like George Clooney and Meryl Streep?
Haven’t seen Fantastic Mr. Fox? Then skip ahead to this week’s 3×3 at the 53:53 mark: movie moments that subvert your expectations. Enjoy Kelly Wand’s proclamation, “I hate this podcast!”.
Teaser: Tom Chick, Christien Murawski, and Kelly Wand talk about A Single Man, which is in limited release to make sure Colin Firth gets his much deserved Best Actor nomination. The topic of the day: Just how gay is this movie? And you’ll never guess which of us rocks an angora sweater.
If you haven’t seen A Single Man yet, skip ahead to this week’s 3×3 right at the one hour mark. Don’t be late for our discussion of the best use of severed limbs, extremities, or heads.
Teaser: Tom Chick, Christien Murawski, and Kelly Wand disagree about Avatar. One of them quite liked it, one of them didn’t like it so much, and one of them hated it. Which is why we end up going longer than usual.
If you haven’t seen Avatar yet, skip ahead to this week’s 3×3 right at the 1:09:00 mark. Movies that make smoking cool.
Teaser: Tom Chick, Christien Murawski, and Kelly Wand deduce who’s to blame for Sherlock Holmes turning out the way it did.
If you haven’t seen Sherlock Holmes yet, meet us at the 57:50 mark to talk about movies that make good political points without hitting you over the head. This week’s 3×3 was so good we recorded it twice!
Teaser: If you get me, Christien Murawski, and Kelly Wand talking about as many as 30 movies, we’re going to be holding forth for a while. So you can either listen to the two-hour epic-length podcast in which we range back-and-forth over our overlapping top ten lists and beyond, or you can check the forum and just read the lists. We’re mostly spoiler free, but I do accidentally say some things about the ending of Inglorious Basterds. Oops.

Teaser: Tom Chick, Christien Murawski, and Kelly Wand disagree about Terry Gilliam’s latest movie and how it does and doesn’t get around the fact that Heath Ledger died before it was finished. If you haven’t seen Imaginarium yet, meet us at the 47-minute mark to talk about movies that aren’t ruined by babies, who are notorious for ruining movies.
Teaser: Tom Chick, Christien Murawski, and Kelly Wand aren’t really crazy about Youth in Revolt. One of us is even angry. It speaks volumes that we move on to this week’s 3×3 at the 37-minute mark. Meet us there if you haven’t seen Youth in Revolt and we’ll talk about our favorite gas station scenes. We come up with some doozies!
Teaser: Tom Chick, Christien Murawski, and Kelly Wand engage in a spoiler-laden discussion of Book of Eli.
Listener discretion is advised due to harsh language, shouting, and amputee-related perversity. Haven’t seen Book of Eli yet? Then fast forward to the 53-minute mark for this week’s 3×3: movies that make great use of weather.
