50 Shades of Good Greif am I actually Reading this Thread?

Hey, it’s reviewing better than Jupiter Ascending so far. Maybe we’ll get the Wachowskis directing porn too.

New meaning for bullet time?

Yeah, that needed a lot more funny…

I haven’t read the books, but have read the reviews starting to come in, and they all seem abysmal. I was wondering though, if people aren’t better off just watching 9½ weeks instead? It seems to me to be more or less the same plot and on top of that, its actually a decent movie.

Perfect time for Everything Wrong with 9½ weeks:

I’m sure you can find lots of things wrong with the movie, as you can with every movie if you want to. Thats not really the point I’m trying to make. (I don’t watch videos as work so I cant really respond to the contents of the video, only that I’m disappointed that this is the response to my post.

Apologies, I figured most people had seen this series, it’s not actually a criticism of the movie, it’s very much in the spirit of this thread (and was made because of Fifty Shades… )

Sorry, I actually forgot a winkie smiley - I’m not disappointed :-)

God I hate this series. The “Movie Sin Counter,” flashy jump cuts, pounding sound effects, ridiculous points of critique. . . they make me feel sympathetic for legitimately bad movies just based on how douchey the series comes across as. It’s like someone gave Comic Book Guy some speed, a free copy of Final Cut Pro, and a stack of DVDs.

To each his own, I think the guy is very funny. It’s purely comedy, he’s ripping through movies he loves as well, it’s got nothing to do with the quality.

Right there with you, I hate that series as well.

I was invited to a girls night out viewing of this by a bunch of women I know. I’m not quite sure how to take that.

Run! Run for your life!

Mr. Horde will see you now.

I didn’t read the book. My wife did, and posted a GoodReads review that excoriated it. She was reading the reviews of the movie to me from IMDB, and it was pretty hilarious. I mean, people have to reach to find new derogatory terms to use in order not to duplicate the other bajillion bad reviews. Though from what I can discern from the reviews I’ve read, it’s mostly a matter of the lead male being kind of wimpy, and the actual film not going anywhere but merely setting up the next two films more than anything else. That, and it’s basically boring, which a movie about BDSM should most emphatically not be.

Secretary probably remains the best film on the subject.

That’s funnier when you accidentally read Secretariat instead of Secretary.

Quit horsing around! This thread is racy enough as it is!

I’d say seriously disturbing rather than funnier. Unless you’re really into horse-on-woman stuff.

Actually, it is funnier because it is a joke and not wishful thinking.
