It’s really kind of a bummer that it’s virtually impossible these days to appreciate Psycho’s coolest feature, that Hitchcock just straight up freakin’ murdered his protagonist midway through the movie. Victim of its own success, I guess.
Why do you say it’s impossible to appreciate? Do you mean because everyone knows?
Because, yeah, that would have been so cool to think you were watching a movie about Janet Leigh embezzling some money.

Tom, as a guy who has bemoaned several times that I’m aware of about the spoiler built into the name of the game “Space Pirates and Zombies”, I would think you of all people would know exactly where I’m coming from.
That said, probably would have been fun to be a fly on the wall for the first couple screenings. “Hey, there’s no psycho in this movie at all! It’s like a travelogue or something! I wonder what that nice young lady will do with all that money.”
