Yeah Kindle Unlimited is a whole other deal from Prime. I keep getting little pushes from Amazon to give it a try, just like with Amazon Music, but I just don’t think I’d get my money’s worth out of it. Either of them.
Prime has a Prime Reading library as well. It’s not just the monthly Prime First titles. It’s separate from Kindle Unlimited, and not nearly as large, but there’s some interesting stuff in there. All the Comixology original titles are covered by it, for example, and they have some full Manga runs like Initial D.
Amazon does the same thing for Music. There’s Amazon Music, which you pay for separately, and there’s Prime Music which is a smaller library you get automatically.
In my experience Kindle Unlimited, by contrast, is like 99.99% self-published crap, and a couple hundred actually good books from famous authors to trick you into subscribing. I often wish there was an extension for Chrome that let you filter out KU titles from search results on Amazon.com.
There’s a lot of self-published genre stuff there. There’s a lot of romance stuff and there’s a lot of LitRPG stuff. And probably a lot of other genre stuff. If you like Harlequin Romance stuff and you read one or two a week, you may find KU a good value proposition. Same with LitRPG. Probably some porn too.
FWIW, I’m on the third episode of Paper Girls on Prime video and it’s really great so far.

We are discussing Paper Girls in the Amazon Prime Video thread, FYI.
Yeah, I quoted a post of yours in my most recent reply (when you mentioned the character beats).

In this case the, “we” includes “you”! Do you feel loved?
???
Did I say something wrong? I hadn’t seen your reply to my reply when I wrote my post previous to this one.

I was trying to be nice in a smartass way. No offense was intended.
OK, none taken. Text is hard to parse sometimes. We’re cool.
The HBOMax content apocalypse continues!
RIP, Infinity Train (was already canceled and now you can’t even watch it! Hooray)
I don’t understand: How much could it cost to keep these movies and shows on the service?? At this point it just seems malicious.
I’m not the most tech savvy guy but I’m guessing they don’t have room for another drive bay in the HBOMax desktop.
I’ve thankfully already seen Infinity Train (great show). Anything else on that show that anyone would recommend?
Last week Waypoint had Adam Conover from Adam Ruins Everything on their podcast to talk about the WB merger. From what he’s heard they just don’t want to pay residuals on the stuff they’re yanking.
Way to further endear themselves to the talent and creative class of Hollywood!
Ellens next great designer??? NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

This is exactly what I keep thinking. They’ve got the servers, they’ve got the streaming service. If there are no licensing deals to negotiate, then why the hell not just leave them up there?
Five series, not four, I forgot about Rick & Morty. And funnily enough, I noticed some games I was waiting and a new album of one of my favorite bands are all coming around the same period, too. Crazy.
If you’ve got it, flaunt it
