So they are just planning to run a third, separate streaming service instead of folding that content into Prime or Freevee?
There’s already an MGM streaming service outside the US. It’s a channel on Amazon Prime here.
I don’t normally fuss too much about carriage disputes - but this one (Dish vs Disney) is keeping me from watching football, dammit.
What pisses me off most is that Dish, I assume, is not paying Disney right now. So they’re just pocketing the part of my bill that is the Disney carriage fee.

Interestingly earlier today I saw that Hulu was broadcasting the Pacific Airshow live. I’ve not seen them do live events before.

Pantheon, adult hard science fiction animation on AMC. Written by Ken Liu, the English translator of the Three Body Problem, who writes in the same hard scifi genre.

Starts grim, gets real interesting
Also on Prime, apparently. Thanks, I might have missed it.
Not in the UK. Also not on Amazon. A lot of AMC stuff ends up on Netflix or C4/5 here, maybe this will too, though it feels like the sort of thing that might fall through the cracks.

As far as I can tell the first episode is up on Prime as a “taster” but you have to subscribe to AMC+ for subsequent episodes.
Aw, dang. I enjoyed the first ep. Used to be able to watch AMC through my cable subscription, but I cut that cord awhile back.
I (rather stupidly) still have a cable subscription, mostly because I have an aging TiVo with lifetime service which can auto-record my mom’s MASH episodes, so I still have AMC. Does that automatically give me access to AMC+, does anyone know? If not I’ll have no guilt pangs about helping myself via Usenet.*
*Basically what I did with the last couple of seasons of Better Call Saul. Couldn’t possibly watch that on the big TV with my mom around. Hell, even my late dad expressed moral disapproval of Breaking Bad when I told him what the premise was, no matter how I tried to explain that I wasn’t watching it out of admiration for Walter White’s character but rather for the story and the actors’ performances.
I have AMC as part of my cable TV/internet package on Xfinity, and I do not get AMC+ with it. If I search for Pantheon, I can watch the first episode but then for the other episodes, it tells me to subscribe to AMC+.
Well, that’s some BS. The high seas it is.
EDIT: Wait, does it tell you to subscribe to AMC+ from within Prime Video, or did you install an AMC+ channel on your Roku or whatever and it still tells you that?
This is from my regular-ass Xfinity cable box. I searched for Pantheon, it says 1 free episode. Every other episode tells me to subscribe to AMC+.
And yet, if you just watched it on your TV, you could watch the whole series (as the episodes were aired, of course)?
In theory, IF it was airing on regular TV. I believe this is streaming only, so because it’s not on the AMC channel itself, it’s on AMC+. So there are no airings on regular AMC to record to my DVR. And every episode except the first tells me to subscribe to AMC+. And the “future airings” part of the DVR schedule has no episodes.
Ah, gotcha, so it’s just a come-on to get you to subscribe to a new thing. Ah well. Eventually it’ll end up on one of the main ones, like Counterpart did-- sooooo good, BTW. I trust you’ve watched that one, right?

Prob works. Don’t know about TV plug in.
Quick, what’s your snap reaction to the news that Hocus Pocus 2 is the most-viewed film premiere on Disney+ ever? Your answer says a lot about you! (Most likely how old you are ;)
a) Hocus what now?
b) They made a sequel to that movie that flopped 30 years ago? Why?
c) I guess that makes sense
d) Well duh, of course. It’s a holiday classic!
saw this quiz the other day. I have mixed feelings about it. It comes from the Bell Curve guy, some Libertarian who argues the effete coastal elite is divorced from what is presumably real America.
There may be some conflating between being in a societal bubble and economic privilege. The author seems to address a bit about minorities but in any case the quiz is pretty useless to me.
Anyway I bring it up because several questions are about which movies you’ve watched.
