re. Apple TV+, I haven’t seen it but I think For All Mankind is supposed to be pretty good?

As a dissenting opinion, I thought Ted Lasso was just OK. Preferred Mythic Quest, actually, and I don’t think that was amazing either. Best thing I’ve watched was For All Mankind, which had its own problems, but, you know, prestige alternative history space race. Definitely not going to be renewing once my trial ends.

By the way, Hilda came to Netflix today. A great show to watch with young kids. Great World Building!

This is framed as scandalous, but CEOs killing projects being made on their dime, by people they don’t like, who were super-shitty to them in the past, isn’t exactly a controversy.

When did Hamilton become a Disney franchise? Is there… more than one, and does Disney own them all?

Yes, Hamilton is part 1 of a trilogy. Moana is part 2, then the final part 3 is Mary Poppins Returns. It took guts to span multiple genres, but they pulled it off!

HBO Max is now on PS5, and it’s coming to Roku tomorrow.

I guess I better get ready for WW84.

Yes, finally!!!

haha.

I like Ted Lasso, also really enjoyed Mythic Quest.

Also if you’re getting CBS All Access for Star Trek, with AppleTV+ you can actually get a discount and get CBS All Access + Showtime for the regular price of CBS All Access.

Great news if true. Swamp Thing was amazing.

Was season one ever added to Max?

Nope. But I assume if they did a season two that would change.

They aired season 1 on CW. I watched a few episodes and it never grabbed me.

Was swamped with watching a lot of other shows, so it wasn’t the thing for me.

I tried watching WW84 in the HBO Max app on my TCL Roku TV, and it was stuttering constantly. I tried fully restarting the television, because it looked more like a software problem than a bandwidth problem, to no avail. It was unwatchable. I ended up using AirPlay from HBO Max on my phone to the TV, which worked without a hitch.

Anyone else run into anything like this? I’d assume it was some strain on the HBO servers if it hadn’t worked just fine on my phone, so that has me suspecting maybe the app is just bad on the TV? I’ll check another movie later when I’m back at the TV. Just seemed really weird.

I was watching Princess Mononoke on my Roku TV without issue today. When I was looking at WW84 it seemed like they didn’t have the promised 4K support on Roku yet, though. Only just got started with HBO Max last night, though. Don’t have a ton of streaming experience with it yet. I only just realized I could start using HBO Max coming with our new Xfinity sub even though our install isn’t until mid January.

My PS4 buffered once this morning and that was it. To be fair, it was a constant problem on all my devices when I was into GoT. HBO just kind of sucks in this area… and nothing has changed.
