This first time I read this, I thought you said “Jesus Christ Supertaster”. Qt3 has ruined me. And made crappy old musicals a LOT more fun sounding!
How many far left murders have we had in the last few years? Just so I can keep score.
Here’s a little tidbit from Bill O’Reilly:
OK. So, I’m the fascist, I’m the bad guy, I’m the problem. Not Tiller. No, he – no, no, no. He’s a good guy. Now, Tiller’s pumping all kinds of money into obviously the attorney general race. He wants the guy that’s gonna let him off the hook to win. Those of you listening in Kansas, you ought to know that. You know, I don’t – I’m not gonna tell you who to vote for. You guys know these guys better than I do, but I tell you what, anything Tiller wants, I’m voting the other way. And if I could get my hands on Tiller – well, you know. Can’t be vigilantes. Can’t do that. It’s just a figure of speech.
There are some left wing screwball extremists out there too, just think of the really extreme environmentalists. I’m thinking along the lines of Earth First and Earth Liberation Front types, that have actually tried to carbomb people, and have done mainly some nasty property damage, but they have been very lucky that some of the ecotage they’ve done haven’t hurt people.
No, they haven’t murdered anyone, yet; but they are just as extreme (imo at least.)
That was well over a decade ago, unless you know something I don’t.
There also aren’t major networks dedicated to whipping them into a frenzy, nor are there great outcries from a major political party complaining that documenting their behavior is some kind of affront to their cause.
ELF? That was only 7 years ago, if they were the ones who did that arson job in San Diego.
Yeah it was in 2003.
And there is also the Animal Liberation Front, who attempted to firebomb a professor at UCLA. That was 3 years ago, so this isn’t decades old. There are crazies on both sides.
fun fact: that was right next to my apartment. on my first day of work at my new company. we were all evacuated by the SDFD and i didn’t get any sleep.
It’s important to note, though, that there aren’t crazies on both sides of this particular issue.
Well, other than Marla Singer.
On that I think we can definitely agree.
Waterboard him. Only way to be sure
No, I didn’t. I said ‘lots’ not ‘most’. You just made up the word ‘most’. I’m just saying you shouldn’t force it on people, because of lot of them don’t need it.
But again, are the “liberal crazies” being whipped into a frenzy by the leaders of the party?
Terrorism: Still a tactic, and not a movement.
Terrorism: Still a tactic, and not a movement.
So, assuming this was terrorism, and assuming rhetoric from some anti-abortion groups inspired it…what should be done to prevent this from happening in the future? Anything? Should the government start checking all written and oral rhetoric from anti-abortion organizations for “dangerous”, volatile speech? What would qualify as “dangerous” speech? Words alone, or the more subjective tone/intent of the words? And if incendiary speech is found, what punishment should be levied?
I’m seeing lots of complaining and grousing about rhetoric, but no proposals for how to deal with the situation. I get the sense that some people would love to make sweeping changes in how some anti-abortion organizations are treated, but are reluctant to say what they really think should be done.
I assume that most people here will agree that the vast majority of anti-abortion organizations and participants are NOT dangerous, at least…but maybe I’m not correct even in that assumption.
No, you’re not correct. People (Well, mainly Mayer) are asserting that the right itself is dangerous.
Treat it more seriously when mentally ill people vandalize and trespass at clinics?
Don’t be an asshole.
Not much people do around here pisses me off, but don’t start putting words in my mouth.
Still, waterboard him to be on the safe side.
There’s a big difference between expressing your opinions with words and expressing your opinions with bullets.
