Ouch! The Onion coming in hot on that one.

Oh you liberals in your urban liberal bubbles where you have dozens if not millions of potential mates to choose from. You don’t understand Real America where your options are limited to the 14 people who frequent the local Bob Evans. The NYT will have an article shortly explaining their perspective.

And only 3 of those are under 14 and so viable candidates!

The extra $5…

Interesting. On the one hand, not my favourite game. OTOH, “pro-life” people aren’t my favourite people…

Don’t like the game myself, but their trolling game is spot on.

Pro-life until it impacted her, then it’s an outrage.

As is the way of things. At least she had a change of heart earlier and was on the right side of the issue.

I really feel like a large number of people (read: conservatives) have a major deficit in the ability to empathize, which likely informs their politics. Hence you get all these “Oh I was against X or for Y… until it impacted me!”. Then the lightbulb finally goes off. For some of them, at least.

And it should go without saying but let me clarify: I’m speaking in generalities here.

It’s going to be really hard to fix the problems if it takes Republicans being personally affected by them before they give a crap.

For sure. I mean, just look at police reform (or rather the lack of it) and other issues that affect minority populations the most.

“I’ve never had a problem with the police! These people need to just obey the laws and be more courteous when they interact with their neighborhood cops!”

I’ve heard that verbatim from my brother more than once. A white engineer in his mid 40s, driving a Volvo station wagon.

A lot going on in Michigan.

The GOP controlled House and Senate are expected to appeal the decision.

There is a separate legal challenge brought by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer before the MI Supreme Court to recognize a constitutional right to an abortion under the Due Process Clause of the Michigan Constitution.

And the Michigan Supreme Court has yet to rule on whether the signatures collected by pro- abortion groups qualify their ballot measure to enshrine the right to an abortion into the Michigan constitution for the November ballot.

No, they ruled. It’s going to be on the ballot.

Oh, I know. I’ve had the same conversations at work. Clueless middle-aged suburban white (and Asian) IT guys perplexed because other people don’t have the same life experiences with police. It’s frustrating.

Excellent!

If only the Jews had been nice to the Nazis!

Yeah, if only they hadn’t called them Nazis and thus turned them into Nazis!

If only the Jews had just memed and voted harder.
