To be fair - per the article - she had become pro-choice a few years before she needed the procedure. The click-bait headline refers to her upbringing and pre-marrage life.

Per the article, she changed her mind only after she had many miscarriages and severe complications during pregnancies. So the point still stands.

If I’m reconstructing the timeline from the article right, she was ~23 years old when she changed her mind, and she has spent the last ~6 years being a pro-choice advocate. I don’t think she’s the bad guy here, though the headline kind of sets her up to be one.

She’s not the bad guy anymore, but like the vast majority of people she didn’t shed many tears over problems she didn’t have herself.

Along related lines, a great many people think it’s more likely that 1) the tribal god of the ancient Hebrews has a special plan for their life and will protect them from harm than that 2) their state laws will do the same things to them that they do to blacks and Mexicans.

Fair enough. My personal rule is that I don’t judge people on actions they take before the age of 30, since they haven’t really finished baking yet & are too influenced by their upbringing to really be responsible for themself. E.g. in her case she grew up in a conservative family, in a conservative community, went to a conservative college, etc. I don’t blame her too much for being against abortion rights at age 23, and I think it’s good that she changed her views when exposed to new information.

In her favor I’d also add that it’s not a small thing to be vocally pro-choice in a small town like Marble Falls. You can get blackballed there in a way that just doesn’t happen in a big, anonymous city. Some of my family lived there, and they basically had to leave the county after the incident.

GTFO with this reasonable shit based on a lifetime of growth and wisdom!

Charlie Kirk’s face is too small for his head.

Man, this is good.

More right wing nuts accusing Graham of intentionally sabotaging them. You hate to see it!

Scumbags in disarray!

How dare he propose the thing that we want at the wrong time! Now voters will be able to demonstrate how out of touch we are!

I think Graham honestly thinks this is a vote-getting move. I think he’s seen polls that show pro-choice voters surging this fall and he thinks the best chance for his side is to try and whip up more enthusiasm from the anti-abortion crowd… which he might (reasonably) think would stay home now that they think they’ve accomplished what they set out to do.

Is his seat up this fall? Maybe it’s about his personal electability. Or maybe he’s just got a big weathervane protruding from his bagina.

No, he just was re-elected last cycle, unfortunately. Who knows why that toady does anything.

If there’s any strategy to it (and there might not be), I’d put money on this. Then when it fails, the GOP can continue to run on it.

Odd, as I has assumed most cats were communist.

No way, cats are all “Fuck you, I got mine!”
