I just wish i could advance in the campaign. I think I’ve replayed Leave-6 about 6 times, then by the time I’ve got a half completed mission 2, I’ve moved on to other games. Then a couple months later move back to the game and start all over again.

I always try to play campaigns in these games as well thinking that’s what you are ‘supposed’ to do, and eventually burn out (because I’m just not good a strategy games, apparently - don’t put in enough time to learn before getting distracted by something else shiny). Turns out apparently I should be playing random/scenario games. I’ve read in multiple places that at least for AoW3, the campaign is actually more advanced/puzzle-based than just playing a standard map. D’oh.
Food.
Easy enough.
Elements of both for me. I’m still learning the tech tree.
I think this is a very good and concise summary of Planetfall.
It requires learning but omg imho its totally worth it.
Apparently not weird enough according to some.
That helps but I don’t think it’s obligatory.
As long as you understand the damage formula can Intuit the utility of most mods.
Oddly, I feel it’s precisely the economy and city management that is lacking and also overly busy and fiddly in PF.

Skip the Vanguard campaign and try a different faction. Good thing is the base game is fairly non-linear, and honestly, the Vanguard campaign is the wrong one to start with I’m finding given how overwhelming it all is. I started playing the Kir’Ko campaign instead and it is much more streamlined with the first map. The only hiccup has been the names, but I get the general gist of what I need to or want to do in the campaign.
