Aladdin live action movie from Disney and Guy Ritchie

Agreed. We watched it this weekend with my 12 year old daughter. She was on board from the start. But my wife and I were surprised by the end at how much we had enjoyed it. Dynamic, fun, with its own personality. It doesn’t replace the original, but it’s not meant to. And I’ll happily rewatch it at some point.

I liked it enough too except
-the songs and singing weren’t as good
-the changes they made to the songs to fit Will Smith made them worse
-the Jasmine song at the end sounds like they were trying to fit in a “Let It Go” of their own but failed hard
-the pacing in a few places felt off

Otherwise it had some pretty good moments.

Edit: also the personality and funny brought by the parrot, monkey, and carpet in the original basically disappeared without anything to replace it

That’s true. It’s the main thing we missed with this version, Iago’s in particular.

A shame, but not surprising.

I didn’t think most the live action stars were type cast or stuck or anything like that. That’s disappointing.

Gizmodo seems hyped for the upcoming Aladdin spinoff.

What the fuck no
