Is anyone from Europe in?

I downloaded to 100% and then thought I’d take a look at it before bed. Fun to play, but there were 3-4 times that a battle came to a screeching halt for a few seconds before lurching ahead again. There seems to be some suggestion on the beta forums that the lag/stuttering is a fix already applied internally, but I’m not sure if what I have matches. Still, I played for a very short time.

Are we under NDA or can I tell everyone how bad it sucks?

There is no NDA.

I still long for a feature that will allow me to filter out loot that drops below a certain threshold. Particularly, anything gray or white. Still have it drop, still have it count against my “turn” in group loot rotation, etc. Just have my client make it non-interactive. I don’t know whether it should be color based or ilevel based, but either way, I’d love that feature. That and a sort option on the inventory to sort based on sale price. Oh, and when selling there should be a “sell all gray and white items” button.

That said, day one, loving it, getting the CE, etc.

I’d love to hear about the “skill-switch” process. Is that still free and without limitation? How does the runesystem work here?

Any real incentive to “stick to a build” and come up with a successful strategy that doesn’t involve constantly changing your skill-setup?

You can switch skills at any time, but the switched skill has a 30 second cooldown before you can use it, so you won’t be doing that all the time. Runes modify skills, check the website.

Thanks.

Can you take out runestones pr. will and reinsert them in other skills?

I played the Wizard last night. I didn’t finish my 1st play through. I have decided that the Waves of Force skill is awesome. I also really liked the challenge (in one of the crypts when looking for the crown) where you turned on a monster spawner and had to live for 30 seconds.

I didn’t see a separate shared stash which leads me to believe that there will only be just ONE stash. That means room is going to get very tight although perhaps with the crafting system we may not be hoarding tuns of gear.

Is there a button where we can report bugs? I looked around and didn’t see it. Or is the answer to just go to the forums?

Yeah, that does remind me of an annoying bug I had last night. The game kept telling me I had empty equipment slots and to open my inventory to equip items. I had a lot of gear I couldn’t use, but everything I could use was equipped. I also got an awful lot of nearly identical gear. There was this kind of warrior belt I must have gotten 10 of.

I kept getting reminded of that too, I assumbe because for most of the beta I didn’t have shoulder armor or rings/amulet. It stopped bugging me towards the end when I did have those slots filled, at least. It should really be only popping up once I assume.

The pool of availble items and affixes/prefixes is based on level, so early in the game it’s a pretty shallow pool. By the end of the beta I was surprised by how many different item types I was seeing even only at level 8 or 9.

That empty-slot popup should only be there when a player actually has items available to fill the slots (and perhaps after something like lvl 15, when they are in town). Seriously annoying.

I also ran into some sort of bug that seemed to be lag-related. There would be some sort of lag spike or whatever and my character would be stuck in a state where I couldn’t actually use any skills or open doors etc. However, the world was still responsive and monsters were happy to chow down on my companion and I. Encountered this just as soon as I picked up Disintegrate. Argh.

Buy-back is bugged. I sold tons of stuff, then immediately unlocked the blacksmith. Went back to buy-back my magical items, got three, then… weird stuff happened.

Just got in the beta myself. Can’t wait to download it later.

Does anyone know if crafted items are always the character level or a fixed level? For example, last night I got an NPC and I wanted to craft him a 1h weapon. I crafted him a mace and he could not use it. He was level 8, the mace was level 9 and my character was level 9. I didn’t have enough gold to try again (spent the rest on training and stash storage).

Now if it character level based, they should have NPCs who joined pinned to your level (to solve a lot of problems from D2) so that you can craft them a bunch of gear they can use right away.

As you upgrade the blacksmith, he learns new recipes that are level-gated. For example, the journeyman recipes create gear that only level 14 or higher characters can use. Spend a bunch of your worthless beta gold to upgrade him and you’ll see what I mean.

It’s a fixed level - you can see the level on the crafting recipe.

Yes you can, but there are no runestones in the beta.

In all my beta playthroughs, I only saw that room once. Pretty neat.

Finished the beta as a monk. It was ok. Neat, and yet, boring. If I was tired at all, forget it. It put me to sleep. After a nap I was able to maintain focus. MMOs do this to me too…

It was… almost exactly what you would expect, really.

I may give the other classes a try.
