Has anyone found the CE for pre-order in Europe? :/
Man, 60 bucks feels like a lot for a game these days (spoiled by Steam) … but Blizzard got my money. Now to see what I can play in the two months before Diablo 3 swallows me whole.
Hmm, Amazon has release day delivery for the regular version but I just got an email saying my CE pre-order won’t arrive until the 18th. An intolerable situation that must be rectified.

I’m honestly surprised the beta is getting another update at this point. I wonder what will be included? They must want tester feedback on something - if it was just to continue stressing the server they’d just keep using the existing client, I assume? Plus, today’s update comes with a character wipe.

Builds can easily generate varying server load. Minor variance is important in a system designed to massively scale.
That makes sense, I suppose. I’m mostly happy to have an excuse to re-level my 5-man team back up to 13 this weekend… :) Oh, wait, I better finish ME3 first. THEN I’ll re-level up my dudes and dudettes!

Sigh… during the last week , pretty much any free time I had to get on and play, the damn thing has been down.
I want to try the other classes before I decide on pre-ordering.

If you’re playing through the beta multiple times, I think its pretty safe to preorder.
Related to the earlier discussion about “character permanence”, and not having a setup where people change their spec all the time – it looks like one way to limit that is likely going into the game. An updated tooltip that appears to be for killing an Elite pack now states:
Defeating an Elite pack has increased your Magic Find and Gold Find. This effect ends if you change skills.
More discussion about it here. If accurate, this would be an elegant method to discourage hardcore players from switching specs all the time, certainly on farming runs, while still allowing the average player to swap them around as they like, without concern.

Has anyone found that they have had to uninstall / reinstall the beta from scratch each time its updated?
I have had to do it twice so far.
Ew, that would suck. No problems with patched Betas on this side.
