No, there is a point in which you can hit “browse” and change it. I did. You probably just skipped over it because of the color scheme of the launcher, it’s kind of hard to notice at first.

Nope, the only click I did was to accept the ToS and then it started downloading. Not a big deal, it’s just a beta and will get deleted pretty soon but still.

I am downloading this Diablo 3 game, to see if is any good. I have heard that to work for el Diablo you have to sell your soul, so I suppose this game has ben made by soulless game devs joke

Yea, I have a small SSD as my system drive and it absolutely drives me crazy when installs do that.

Well, then the only explanation I can come up with is that my SSD C: drive didn’t have enough room for the diablo 3 beta, or perhaps that I launched the executable from the other hard drive that it gave me the option of choosing where to install it?

Who knows. Although I also launched it from the D: drive but my SSD has plenty of room available.

Or maybe I should have had my morning coffee before I jumped on downloading this and missed the button. :)

Stridergg, I installed on C: as well unintentionally. I went back and looked at it on my other PC, and sure enough, there’s an install path (and change button) at the TOP of the TOS. Kind of an unconventional place for it and hard to see, but it was there, so my mistake.

“Unable connect to the service or the conversation was interrupted. (Error 3003)”

This is diablo speak for “Servers are not open yet”

Just move the Diablo III folder somewhere else and launch it. I put a copy of it on my son’s computer in his emp folder and launched it from there without any issues.

Note to self: Changing the account language in setting breaks the beta.

I managed to unbreak it by launching it with

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Diablo III Beta\Diablo III.exe" -launch -locale enGB

Thanks, I will try. But I think is not open here in europe yet, and this is the generic error for “servers are not open yet”. So… humm??

2pm CST, noon PST.

Or 9p.m. in Spain.

Yeah, I tried logging in and it said this account is not associated with diablo 3. That’s when I went onto the website and discovered that it doesn’t start until 2pm. Damn it.

That’s weird, it gave me an option to choose the folder.

Yeah it does give you an option, but you just have to look very carefully.

that’s the screen it was on, it was at the top left. You just needed to read more closely.

Yeah, yeah, I get it guys. :)

That’s what I get for skipping ToS screens without even looking at them. :) In my defence, that’s usually not the place to select installation folder. :)

Agreed, I made the same mistake. I looked around and at the bottom, where it typically resides. Besides, seeing a ToS agreement is nearly guaranteed to make my brain shut off and click “Next” as quickly as possible.

Is there a special Beta client I need to download? Because I already downloaded the pre-install for having that yearly WoW subscription thing, but the installer won’t let me install. It just says “The fire from the sky still falls. Diablo 3 has not yet launched.” when I click the big red Install button.

Yes, the beta client is completely separate. You have to get it through your battle.net account.
