Which clearly ibdoomed does.

You’ll see your banner with your hero at the character select screen as well, and I think it might be something that’s shown on the friends list as well, but now I can’t remember for sure (and have no way to check! :P).

But yeah, mostly for co-op games.

Related question - by default if someone clicks on your banner they teleport right to you. If you put a banner down by hand when you are in the dungeon do they teleport to that instead? Why would you want that, out of curiosty (and if I have it right)?

So you don’t teleport into the middle of the boss that has been killing you over and over?

I was going to ask what putting down a banner did, now it seems obvious that it just sets a teleport point. Which is awesome.

I’m not getting how to unlock the banners in this banner unlocking website thing, though.

Girl, let me tell ya!

You create a banner for each class, and then unlock that classes banner.

You can just hit random and create a random banner, nothing fancy required, and then submit it and you are asked for a nickname and an e-mail.

I assume if you put an e-mail not tied to battle.net you aren’t going to get anywhere. The reason I was confused to begin with is you don’t seem to be required to log into battle.net to redeem anything, which struck me as odd and confusing.

Also, that first banner (the demon hunter) it sounds like the e-mail confirmation was broken for a time there, which is why I never got a confirmation for that one (I hope).

But if you are teleporting to your allies, wouldn’t they be in the middle of the fight and wouldn’t they WANT you to come directly to the battle?

Just as an example from the demo. The barb in our team had set up a banner at the edge of the arena versus the skeleton king. And that is a smart thing to do because any porting on top of that barb right in the middle of the SK’s ghost cleave is going to be in for a world of hurt.

Not that it would be fatal there, but it would be when playing on Hell difficulty with your wee health glass cannon mage.

So what does unlocking a Sigil actually do?

That’s no different than how town portals worked previously, right? Or am I missing something?

Only if you want to get hurt.

If I don’t create a custom banner now, do I still get to select from a pre-made list when I actually play the game? Or is there just 1 per class by default? Or does creating a banner now mean that it will be created in the game, and everybody in the world will be able to select it as one of the options (or something like that)?

I may be incorrect but is it even possible to port into an event like that? Attempting to enter an event in progress that you weren’t there to start doesn’t seem to work.

And on that matter, the whole “Accept Event?” screen that pops up when someone goes to enter through a door is stupid. Perhaps there’s a chest or piece of loot to pick up, and that dialog box takes up half the damn screen. If you hit cancel… great, you’re screwed unless your buddies port out of the event to reset it.

Uh no you can make a custom banner whenever you want, you will unlock things that you can put on it when you do achievements and other stuff.

This create-a-banner-unlock-a-Sigil thing is just to unlock an “exclusive” symbol on our in-game customizable banner?

People stress over this?

Are people stressed over it? Not that I’ve seen. A little confused maybe.

There were a LOT of unlockable content for banner creation/customization in the beta, and I imagine that was just some of it, so by the time you hit the end of Normal difficulty you can probably really make some unique banners if you’re so inclined.

It probably won’t matter, I bet 90% of the people that play keep the default stock banner anyway. :)

They’ll never be unique as long as they’re based off of the stock templates.

What would be hilarious is if there’s an achievement for spending over $50 on the real money auction house, and that achievement unlocks a banner or sigil.

Anyone else punching the “install” button on the Diablo 3 setup screen at least once a day just in case it might suddenly work? Yeah, I’m pathetic.

Every other day, but I keep hoping they’ll fuck up and turn it on accidentally. Hey…it could happen.

I used to flip through the scrambled porn channels on tv all the time, and a couple times my diligence paid off and they were accidentally left unscrambled for a little while. So keep your hope up!
