my impression of you just changed…

It wasn’t like this was last week. What child of the 70s / early 80s didn’t watch scrambled porn when they were 11 or 12?

Maybe his impression changed to a better one?

We had Showtime and The Movie Channel in the 80’s. I didn’t really have to watch softcore porn scrambled.

It might be useful after someone died? I don’t know either, I just saw it happen and assumed that was the reason. However as the odds of actually dieing in the beta were minimal to non-existent I have no idea if it actually works like that.

But yeah, basically it’s like how the various Townportals worked in D2.

Oh yeah, we all did that. Half an hour of staring at squiggly lines in the hopes of a half second flash of boob. Those were the days!

The “custom” banner is just a pointless bit of tinsel that will have no effect on your enjoyment of the game. The only reason for creating one is if you’re so enamored by the hype that you can’t think of anything else. So you’d rather be spending your time engaging in a shallow bit of free advertising rather than playing some excellent cheap game thats sitting in your backlog.

TLDR: The custom banner is for us. Go and get it now.

Tony

Haha yeah. I’m pretty sure any young male who had a TV did this in the 70’s.

@WarrenM sorry to reopen the vacation thing, but I wasn’t able to log on last couple of days. This isn’t the first time I’ve taken a week off for a major game launch, and won’t be the last. I have 5 vacation weeks per year right now, (26 years with the company) and I struggle to get them all in. At least 1 or 2 is a staycation every year, where I get a bunch of stuff done around the house. I like to time them with the release of a game I want to play. Makes perfect sense to me. I also usually head to Vegas 1 week per year, take a cruise 1 week, and let the kids decide 1 week (almost always Orlando which isn’t far from here.) So, yeah. A week or 2 of not having to do anything except what I want to do is exactly how I like to spend the other weeks.

for all you old people.

I’ll be in my bunk.

Shrine to Diablo 3

Wow. And I thought I was excited.

$5 says some of the wax from those candles drips and shorts out his keyboard just as he’s getting ready to load for the first time.

So you have to post each banner to your Facebook account to unlock it?

Argh! THE WAIT! IT BURNS!!

Do you mean you can’t wait for Diablo 3 or that Little Mermaid-looking object in the bottom right? :)

Hey, Aerial (or however you spell it) was hot in a Splash-kinda-way.

Mermaid game. Duh! I’m way to immature to play an M-rated game.

Awesome. If you build a Mermaid shrine, please post followup pics. :)

Seriously, though, I’ve got some hangups about Diablo 3 but I’m looking forward to the 15th. The nice thing is I’m going in with somewhat low expectations so pretty much either get what I bargained for or I end up being very pleasantly surprised.

Do you play any MP, BtF, or are you typically a SP only kind of guy?

I generally play single player in most game (let’s say 95%) but there are some games I like to co-op in (usually turn based strategy). However, Diablo III is actually a game I’m interested in the multi-player with. To me Blizzard overcame the biggest hurdle in getting people like me playing with even random strangers just because they seperated the loot out and worked hard to foster a series of systems where there is no advantage to fucking over someone you’re on the same team with.

Many of my real-life buddies are picking this up day 1, so it’s likely at some point we’ll roll up separate characters to play together with.
