Yes, I had issues all weekend.
I tried off and on all weekend and got in for maybe a couple hours. Add me to the list of ‘it generally didn’t work’ people.
Yeah, the stress test was just that, a stress test. I barely was able to log in for a few hours on two separate occasions.

And yet I got to take 4 classes through the end boss in one weekend.
Funny.

Yeah, I didn’t play too much during the weekend as I’d spent the previous week playing the classes I wanted to play, but had no difficulty playing whenever I did want to.
Wonder what was going on behind the scenes.

Being able to play for 30 minutes all weekend is not that impressive
OH SNAP
It would be interesting to compare metrics.
What time(s) did you log in?
Was it rubberbanding or lagging and you pushed through?
Is your connection DSL or cable and what’s your up/down?
Or is it possible you’re on dialup and that’s the ticket?
Can you tell us what state or at least part of the country you’re in?
I’ll answer them first.
I don’t recall times. I got home from work, typed my creds into the login screen and hit enter, got an error, went to do something else for a couple hours, rinse and repeat.
The couple times I did make it in, it was normally rubberbanding too much to actually make progress or I would click on a mob and count to 3 for it to register.

I live in Iowa, and I got in almost* every time I tried on both Saturday and Sunday of that weekend, getting about 90ms-120ms and almost never rubberbanding (maybe once every other time I played). I played enough to level a Wizard and a Witch Doctor to 13, and beat the SK with the other classes once or twice each. I didn’t get in at all Friday night.
DSL (Windstream) - 12mb down/1mb up
*added that because it seems to me there were once or twice I couldn’t get in, but I would just try again 20 minutes later and get in, and I believe that only happened two or three times on Saturday, no problems Sunday - if memory serves.
I played on all three days, haven’t seen any rubberbanding at all. I could log in whenever I tried, except for one time on Saturday afternoon, when I tried a few times, couldn’t log in, waited for an hour and then logged in fine. On occasion it would take a few tries to log in.
I haven’t had extremely long sessions (well, maybe once on Saturday night), mostly I would play for about an hour and log out. I tried all classes and killed the Skeleton with 3 of them.
Cable 28mb/1.5mb, Toronto.
I was quite puzzled to read some people had lots of issues as my experience was almost flawless.
I don’t know, maybe they gate different regions through different login servers and some of them malfunctioned.
I got 4 characters to 13 and beat the beta upwards of a dozen times. Had about 17 hours of play total over the weekend at various times. Had a few moments where I got the error that said they were full, just came back later. No rubberbanding.
Crap dsl with under 3 up, 768 down

In celebration of a successful beta test, all players who were invited to participate in the Diablo III closed beta will receive the commemorative Feat of Strength, “One of the Chosen.” For eligible players, this feat will appear automatically in the Feat of Strength list after logging in for the first time as well as unlock a unique sigil that can be used on character banners.
In order to be eligible for “One of the Chosen,” you must have had a Diablo III closed beta license attached to your Battle.net account (it isn’t necessary to have downloaded or logged into the beta itself). Please note that players who participated only in the Open Beta Weekend, but were not invited to the closed beta, will not receive this Feat of Strength.
Thank you once again to all of our beta participants. We look forward to seeing you in Sanctuary!
Bitter tears on the forum.
It’s hard for me to understand why anyone would care.
why does anyone bother with achievement points?

I’ve often wondered that myself.

Achievement points are just another form of a game. I find myself gunning for achievement points in WoW at times because I’m bored and I want to try something that might be a bit of a challenge or grind when I’m doing something.
All the power to people who find achievements fun. It’s their idea of a game and good on them.
It’s an achiever-thing. These little goals are something that personality type loves.
I’m an explorer-type and regard them with amusement.
Achievement-whoring is fun for a certain personality type (OCD) that likes to see the little “100% complete” indicator on their games. Not saying that I am one of those people (ahem).
If I made a game that had achievements I would have one for not getting any of the other acheivements. So you either have 99% of them, or 1% of them.
Screw you completionists!
