Yes, but to do it you have to assign the LMB skill to the RMB, and the LMB skill instead of being left empty will default back to melee attack.

If you want weapons to matter go play Torchlight 2.

Spectral Blade hits an arc in front of you. It’s range is about the same as the Barbarians Cleave. I’ll grant that you aren’t swinging a blade though. There are a few melee range-attacks, but swinging a weapon through the game isn’t practical for the wizard.

I’ll go with her. Where to?

Right. Spectral blade is not a ranged attack.

What are you talking about? Weapons matter bigtime in D3. Every skill’s damage is based upon your weapon.

Were melee wizards really just spamming basic attack? I thought they always focused heavily on using spectral blade, along with other point blank abilities and defensive buffs?

Something like this.

I’m still trying to figure out why you’d ever want to swing a weapon in a game when you have up to 6 slots that can use any combination of 125 skills, personally.

Obviously because skills are boring.

I think Armando is a closet Barbarian.

No, they’re a stat stick.

When people say they want melee weapons, they like the theme that goes along with certain weapons, including animations, attack speeds, and sounds.

Nah. The javazon was the most famous D2 wacko build, and it used charged strike for single-targets and lightning fury for multiples. Neither one used the javelin’s animation, attack speed, or sound.

The javazon was interesting because it was a competitive amazon build in melee range, not because everybody loved the javelin’s weapon animations.

Similarly, the melee sorceress used the dream runeword for passive holy shock aura, that worked with lightning mastery to zap anything that got in melee range, in combination with the passion runeword, which granted the paladin’s zeal. It wasn’t about the weapon the sorceress was using, although at least the melee sorceress swung her weapons, so you could see the animations happen.

No reviews until release?

Yup, much like Starcraft II they’re not giving early copies or early access to anyone

When I played a wizard in beta, she swung her sword when I attacked with magic missile. If the mob was in melee range it looked like she was in melee combat with an unusually magical sword.

I could imagine a build that focuses on melee range abilities feeling like a melee wizard.

Eh, Enchant+weapon damage was still non-trivial, once synergies came in. (There was a damn good analysis of it by Mungo Jerry, the guy who did a bunch of crazy playthroughs, including Irene the Infirm, a Pacifist Necromancer, and a Barbarian who cleared Hell difficulty with only spells/warcries).

But your larger point is still right.

RichVR. Imagine your wife alone on a cruise. Shes had a few drinks. A tanned, relaxed, handsome man hits on her. The only thing stopping her going back to his room is her marriage to a guy who stood her up for a computer game. Now reevaluate your decision.

Wow, reality kicks in. Your right, the dude should have filled her trip in a girls only cruiser. Good catch!

Here you go:

Diablo 3 is devilishly fun!
You run around hitting stuff with a weapon or spells until they die.
Some of the things you hit hit back pretty hard!
Pretty cinematics.
Lots of loot
Have to be online all the time to play
Auction House!?!
Saving the world has never been this addictive!
9.5/10

Why? Then he can focus on Diablo - and make it rich on the RMAH!

THEN he can go online and find a young hot girl who’s into gaming ;)

Right?

Right?

Seriously, what do you think the reviews are going to say?
