And 3 hours 15 minutes until Blizzard flips the switch that allows folks to install the game and patch it.
My copy had better have arrived when I get home…
I have decided to wait a few weeks before buying this. I wont be able to play it for more then a few hours this week anyway, due to real life stuff. Besides that, I’m really enjoying playing Skyrim (again) and ME3 (third playthrough) atm. Buying Diablo 3 now would mean I have to add those other games to a (growing) log of ‘played, but not yet completely done with’ games, something I want to avoid, especially with Skyrim. Anyway, while I do look forward to playing D3, I’m really not that hyped that I need to play it NOW!
…
At least, that’s what I think now. I’m probably going to buy it before the end of the week anyway, because everyone likes it so much and is whooing about it here. I’m weak…
Murphy says (pick 1):
1)No.
2)It’s delayed 1 week.
3)The mail delivery car it was in got hijacked.
4)Your copy got delivered to someone else.
5)It arrived on time, but your ISP decided to block your net connection for 1 week.

What stops this from happening if I go with her? And you know what internet connectivity on a cruise ship costs?
I heard something about a cruise. When do we leave?

Aren’t cruises for the over 70’s.

So it is proper to call this the biggest game release in PC gaming history? For me, this level of excitement was only surpassed once, with the release of Ultima Online, because I was in the beta and I knew how awesome and revolutionary that game was. But that was more of a niche thing. This past week the buzz has been non-stop. At the restaurant for Mother’s Day yesterday, it was all me and my nephews were talking about. During our conversation, I got an e-mail from a friend, who informed me that a mutual friend would be joining us in D3, and that a friend of his was buying the game as well.
I don’t know why, but I’m looking forward to this moment as well. Sure, I won’t be able to play it for 15 hours after that point, but it’s like a mini-Milestone.
My son told me yesterday that he’s assembled a team of 5 other friends to MP together at a scheduled time.
When D1 came out, he was 4 years old.
You haven’t been on a good one, obviously. :) We did a cruise on a clipper ship last year through the Caribbean and it was fucking fantastic. Only about 100 passengers on the boat and… fuck, now I want to go back.
I think only 4 can play together, incoming kid fight!
Even though (as Harkonis mentioned above) only 4 people per team, this is an awesome story.

At the parents’ house for Mother’s Day, my brother mentioned that he wants to get Diablo 3 for his birthday (which is on May 15th). He’s 32 years old and I’ve never seen him play anything other than solitaire or minesweeper while passing the time.
Maybe it’s an achievement!
best achievement ever…
Play Diablo 3 for the first time at least 1 week after release.
Screw you achievement whores! you must wait! mwahaha
I just cannot wait to hit level freaking 14.
