Damn! Install done, saw the opening cinematic, got the login screen, entered my account info, and…server down. I should have known, but I got hopeful :-).

I keep fearing it as being nearly superhuman, somehow. Like it would actually be strong enough to resist the pull of the vacuum and somehow JUMP AT YOUR FACE. Or if you stabbed at it the things’ spider-sense would save it so it could JUMP AT YOUR FACE.

Your mistake is trying to reclaim the property. Leave it, move at least two states away and start over.

15 1/2 hours to kill. Now what?

Play GW2 for 7 hours. Then set alarm clock and sleep for 7 1/2 hours and boom, D3 goodness!

And I hope that, unbeknownst to you, your neighbors visited Australia last month, brought home a fertile female by accident, and it colonized your home :-D.

I’m installing the downloaded client and already I hit a snag; Error 108 occurred because Tome2.MPQE could not be opened :( I don’t need this shit, man.

AAAAHHH!!!
Man you can’t just loose that in the threads without some kind of warning. Jesus!

As for the size: if it’s anything like the one I was refering to, it’s about as big as a man’s hand. Cute, huh? ;-)

I think the chemical solution is the best. They have nice spraycans that work quite well, especially if you add a lighter…

You’re better off without Tome2. Some books should not allow themselves to be read.

More seriously, there’s a huge and rapidly growing thread on the official forums about this. Here’s Bashiok’s post:

Yes, the 108 error is likely caused by partial or incomplete files. You should be able to launch the downloader again, point to the directory holding the “Diablo-III-8370-enUS-Installer” to verify game files and correct any missing data. Let the downloader sit there, even though it’s at 100%, and it should eventually auto-launch the installer.Alternatively you can download the client again (and make sure you don’t close it prematurely this time), or wait for the new installer that includes streaming and doesn’t require a full download.

Can we please stop talking about the spider? After the “Coup to grace” thread in EE, I’m getting all sorts of twitchy reading this forum :(

On the plus side, this is why they enabled the installer a day early instead of on the 15th.

My installer asked me if I wanted to activate my digitally downloaded from the Battle.net site after purchase game. Isn’t it already activated on my account? My account lists it as Active. Huh…

No Diablo III and you don’t get your money back? That’s raw

Well, as much as I support consumer rights, it does kind of serve them right for a) pre-ordering, b) pre-ordering from an expensive bricks and mortar retailer, and c) pre-ordering from an expensive bricks and mortar retailer that has already gone into insolvency in the UK. And technically they may get some of their money back. The pre-order customers should be unsecured creditors of the company and get paid back as much (pro-rata) as other unsecured creditors. In practice, though, it’s probably money down the drain.

Yea, click the option that says it’s already activated…

So, because they issued a fix in a very rapid and timely fashion for certain cards, you won’t buy ATI? Nvidia don’t even publish a proper known issue list, and don’t issue additional patches for individual games…

Christ, I knew someone would turn this into a whole thing. Just chalk it up to me owning an ATI card and being really disillusioned with them over the past couple of years. If you don’t agree, fine.

I don’t buy ATI anymore because, while it’s sweet of them to list known issues and all, THERE’S ALWAYS GODDAMN ISSUES WITH EVERY GAME I PLAY. I’ll take “not having problems” over a nice list of all the problems any day.

Funny, I’ve never HAD an issue with any games on Nvidia. Not saying there aren’t any, just none I’ve ever had a problem with. Probably something to do with so rarely playing games on release day…
