It’s interesting… one of the things I didn’t enjoy about Torchlight as much as Diablo II was the fact that it seemed like all the loot that I saw in Torchlight was +X to your efficiency. No big splashy abilities that you normally wouldn’t have access to. It seems like the whole skill/rune design would be likely to make that a lot harder to do in D3. (Here’s hoping there are items that give you skills from other classes or somesuch…)

This is pretty much incorrect. Torchlight included Elemental Damage which affected mobs via proccable effects like burning, freezing, poison, and AoE shock. The elemental damage also made your weapon glow differently and applied sound effects as well for the procs, making weapons “feel” different (Torchlight 2 also does this, and I think Diablo 3 may do this as it includes elemental damage into some weapons).

There’s definitely elemental damage on D3 weapons early on, with visible effects. If it’s like D2, then a lot of the more interesting modifiers only show up later or on unique and set items.

Cain is reading prophecies that say the first sign of the end days will be when justice falls on the world of men. Tyrael is the archangel of justice. I suspect he’s the fallen star under Tristram. Whether or not he’s a baddie I can’t say, but it’s at least possible.

Feel free to join us Euros, but once you login your account is tied to that region for good.

Ps Euro servers only lasted a few mins post launch and have been down since.
