This release is a bad omen for me… my gaming computer looks kaputt… and i mean hardware dead. now i dont even care about the game… just want to salvage my desktop pc now! should have just stuck to minecraft for the night… poor me!

Yeah, I plan to call it at 1 if I can’t get in, and maybe set my alarm for 5:30. I can get up, shower, go buy some breakfast, and spend a groggy, confused morning slaying my foes with poison frogs until I have to get to my first meeting. Poison motherfucking frogs!

On a bright note - Those that were against the always online portion of this game should feel justified that they had a pretty valid argument ;)
I would score 1 point for the always online naysayers.

Edit: after a very short while, lag has cleared and it is playing well.

I’m not mad, but ya, i’m disappointed. I’m sure they’ll get it all sorted, but still…I expected more from them.
Seems like my vid card or hard drive crashed. I am guessing vid card… getting strange visual artifacts on bootup, pre windows 7 launch… this sux.
Its not a new card… had it since 2009 GTX 285.
Somewhere between watching that video on youtube and alt tabbing to check on my D3 logon status srsly crashed my pc/vid card!
Except it’s not like this wasn’t foreseen. The first few hours were always gonna be rough. Just like every WoW launch and every power blackout ever, this will be forgotten as soon as it starts working again.

Now the character creation screen is just sitting greyed out, but not timing out. I probably have to completely relog, but I am scared!

As a power operator I can say that power blackouts are NEVER forgotten.

We’ve temporarily taken our Battle.net websites offline and launched more servers to accomodate for the traffic. We hope to resolve these issues as soon as possible and appreciate your patience.
Sounds like a dying card pushed over the edge by a new game by either heat or voltage regulation issues. I’ve lost a couple cards that way, with similar symptoms. The visual artifacts at boot are a pretty good indicator the card is hosed.
Since my last attempt to create a character everything is just greyed out now, including the back button. I’m guessing servers are down again, so there’s nothing to send a timed out message to my client.
So much for playing for a couple of hours before work tonight. Maybe I’ll still get half an hour or so.
