Assuming you’re not an idiot (you can’t be, since this website doesn’t load in Internet Explorer), you should enable Elective Mode immediately. You’ll have the option to scroll between ability groups when assigning spells and attacks to buttons and hotkeys.

I had to try it, and it does indeed load in IE.

Unfortunately all my buddies picked up downloadable copies and guest passes are apparently only for retail.

I only bought it digitally, will that give me guest passes? If I have a code you can have it… I poked around and couldn’t see one, though.

BTW, there is a game-breaking easily reproducible bug that has been found. A hotfix is on the way.

According to many posts on the Blizzard forums, equipping a Templar follower with a different shield may result in the game desynchronizing from Blizzard’s servers. Users are also reporting that they are unable to log back into Diablo 3 – specifically encountering timeout error 3006 – even after restarting the game.

Odd - I’ve given my templar 3 or maybe even 4 shields now with no problems. I wonder what would cause that?

On another note, just wrapped up Act I - so fucking amazing.

The Templar bug only breaks if you are a Demon Hunter, other classes are fine.

Welp, after the kids went off to school I grabbed a quick hour and a quarter of this. Got the Skeleton King’s crown and leveled my monk (Baldyman) up to 8. Trying to get every damn +XP item I can, because this game is all about RUNES RUNES RUNES RUNES RUNES!!!

Now I’m at work – saw from friends list that a shitload of people are taking Diablodays, but not me, I took a day last week to demo my project, and deadlines at work are pressing. But it’s all good, I always get outleveled by the world in every damn game there is, why should Diablo be any different?

I was amused to see that Tom Chick himself was the only person on the list who’d made act 2, with his level 18 witch doctor (or something). Who’d’a thunk Tom would be the most h@rdc0r3 DIII player on Qt3? (at least among those who got on my friends list this morning…)

It very well might be his job for right now.

I got to act2 also, sitting at level 16 or 17. Regrettably, I stayed up all night and am now destroyed at work.

Zynga was just in the news with how they handle peak load situations like this. They used to depend on just Amazon which worked fine and could scale to whatever they needed, but then started shifting away to their own cloud setup. By optimizing the machines for just their applications they saved serious money but still left open the option for shifting overflow to Amazon.

Diablo 3 could certainly work like this, WoW maybe not so much.

Just killed Skeleton king, never got to him in Open beta. Pretty cool so far. The lore/story has been better than my (low) expectations.

Also Skeleton King is a pretty fun boss fight. Right amount of HP/damage/challenge.
