PEOPLE ARE HAVING FUN SHUT IT DOWN!

I played for a couple hours last night with my brother, a ways past the skeleton king, and had a fucking blast. So far I’ve not been able to connect at all today. I know it’s day one, I know server issues are to be expected, but I expected better and I am very, very disappointed.

Why does blizz hate us?

Man, I wouldn’t mind so much if they did this every two hours or so to enforce a break. Otherwise I go floating off into “Diablo zone” and don’t surface for 4 hours.

I hope not. I didn’t do anything out of the ordinary. Just logged in and started playing. Aside for a rare hiccup, it’s been a solid experience today.

Ha! Well I logged out for a bit, and just tried to get back in. There’s a queue now. No indication how long the queue is though.

I installed this afternoon, had issues connecting, finally got in around 3:30 PM EDT, and just played for a little over 90 minutes. Server issues aside, I’m loving it.

People who took today off and didn’t expect issues are crazy.

However, I have tomorrow off, and people who have tomorrow off are not crazy, just enthustiasts!

The Dungsroman is good, the Dungsroman is wise.

Yeah, now the server is down. Looks like an hour, but I’m going to give it 2 at least. Hopefully they clear stuff up for everyone having issues. This is truly a fun game and people need to be playing it.

Looks like you’re playing somewhere other than North America. :)

I know. I was riffing. As I am wont to do.

It is a great game, but there’s no way the servers are going to come back up and be functional when they’re estimating. The load on the servers is just going to get heavier and heavier this evening. The flood of people that have been hammering the servers all day is just a fraction of what will be hitting them now that everyone’s getting home from work.

Going to be a “fun” weekend.

Oh, this is NOTHING compared to the hammering the servers are going to get this weekend.

Also - it’s not like the server mess was entirely unexpected.

“Unable to connect to the service or the connection was interrupted. (Error 3003)”

With 10 years of WoW and Starcraft experience I thought this launch would be smoother. It pretty much is a epic failure.

Thank god I took the day off of work!
The crappy server situation was foreseeable, but it’s been down all afternoon. The only thing that frustrates me is that they bother to say it’ll be up by a certain time. Then, it’s not up by that time.

Wizard is pretty sweet, from the 2-3 hours I actually got to play.

WoW you’d think Blizzard would have some experience with supporting a heavy load on servers and be better prepared for this. I hope I am able to install and play tonight.

I’m guessing some of the poeple who dislike the “always online” requirement are feeling vindicated.

This happens with every online launch, regardless of ultimate success. It happened with Rift and TOR. It is what it is.

Installing off disc, but it hit 77% and started pulling roughly 55mb down at roughly 15k/s. I assume that’s a day one patch? Gonna be a few hours, so hopefully it’s not a corrupted install and the servers are back up by then.

Yep, day1 patch. 15k/sec is pretty dismal. Check that P2P downloads are active.

Steam allows you to play offline when your Internet is down or on the rare occasion when Steam has a glitch. Is there a technical reason not to allow a single player character set that you can’t use on battle-net and let you play offline?
