Yeah I know, I’m just tossing out a hand grenade for fun. Still waiting for mine to arrive from Newegg. (regular shipping is my version of forced discipline to avoid the first day rush, either that or I was just being cheap).

Maybe I’m dense, but, um, how do you play a private game with just the 1-3 others you want to play with? Is it based on knowing the battle tags and inviting them? Can you create a private multiplayer game with password a la D2?

Ok - i’ve made it to Act II. Level 17 on my DH.

I am a bit disappointed seeing people almost done with Hell already. They better be killed by the first zombie in Inferno…

/commence begging

can someone PM me a guest pass (north american) pulease??

People rushing through the game will always happen. World first everything, always done in a week or two if not less.

I’ve played 3 hours and I just killed the Skeleton King. I did explore everything and listen to all the dialogue.

The only way I know is to get them on your friends list, then it is super easy to invite them from there, and they can easily join a game in progress.

Played my Witchdoctor up to level 11-12 and having a blast (especially after 11, when I started churning much more damage).

I’ve been playing all day (10+ hours) and only just made it to Act II. And I didn’t really explore everything. Some of the areas and dungeons are massive.

I have a stupid question. If you respond to someone with a whisper, how do you clear the chat bar so that it goes back to party chat?

This. I didn’t even finish the Act I while playing solo for the better part of the day. I later played about 3 hours with a friend and things progressed faster because he didn’t want to fully explore the maps, but from what I’ve seen the game will take a pretty good time to beat if you try to do everything.

Even with the server problems, I’m very satisfied with the game. If I didn’t have to work early tomorrow I would probably be playing well into the morning. It’s incredible how the gameplay is basically the same it was 15 years ago and still as satisfying today as it was then.

Type “/p”

Did it all just fall over in a heap for anyone else?

Yah, it just totally shit the bed. I couldn’t even quit out…I had to kill it.

It did for me, I thought it was just bad luck leaving for a minute to check my emails.

8:30pm PST on the day after launch… I assume that this is probably as busy as it will get.

I finished Normal about 15 minutes ago; it took me something in the 12-13 hour range (I got lucky and got in this morning before any of the server issues, was on for about 9 hours until the servers went completely down, got back in after dinner, and finished in another 4.5 hours. I did get up and walk around several times in there, though, so the actual playing time was probably closer to 12 hours.

I did not touch the beta and had zero Diablo 3 specific experience going in. I played a Demon Hunter, and watched all of the cutscenes (though, ugh, I probably could have lived without that). I think I died once total outside of Act boss fights; I died several times each on the final three Act bosses. I explored pretty thoroughly, though I have virtually no achievements from the first two acts because they weren’t awarding properly for me prior to the server outage.

With some knowledge going in about what actually worked and what areas I could skip, I could have cut 5 hours off of that pretty easily, but where’s the fun in that? Oh, and I was level 31 when I finished Normal. YMMV. That’s the first time I’ve done this much non stop gaming in a day since the last Diablo game. Back to (real) work tomorrow!

GG BLIZ!~ I DIDN’T KNOW I BOUGHT AN MMORPG!!

Got to level 10 – just finished the point where the beta ended. Logged out to grab some dinner and came back and the servers are crashed. All in all though, the game is blast!

I’m level 15 after almost 5 hours of playing with a co-op party, so anyone who solos the game in 7 hours is just skipping everything and… yeah, what’s the point of playing the game if you’re going to just rush to Inferno? To be the first to get some hardcore item drop to sell for cash? OK then, have fun spending dozens of hours grinding an item that, while possibly could sell for $100, is netting you like $2 an hour searching for it.

Ah, good. I wasn’t the only one able to play all day. I think people upthread weren’t believing me that I had no server issues today.

I got to level 20, and a bit into Act 2. I’m finding this Act to be a little more challenging than Act 1, and that’s a good thing. It’s not difficult, just a bit tougher. Starting to see gem drops too finally.

Looks like Battlenet’s broke now…
