I’ve died 4 times I think so far. At least 3 of those were due to extreme lag. I’m not sure im brave enough to try hardcore from NZ.

Whats the rest of the QT3 collective finding with lag? (when the servers are actually available).

bnet got yanked down pretty suddenly about 10min ago. A bit disappointing, as when I was back at the character select screen I could see that a bit of progress had been wiped out (wasn’t even the same level anymore). Ah well… if normal only takes 15hours casually, might as well drag it out somehow!

Is it funny that the server status page is down with a message saying “The Blizzard family of websites will return soon”? I think it is.

I’ve had some rubber-banding around, but so far nothing that has caused me to get close to dying.
Also, that bug with the templar, has that been patched yet? I’m not using him in my party as it would be too easy to forget it in the middle of playing.

lol, and now the servers are gone too…

It’s like that calm elevator music playing while, just outside the door, the entire earth is burning…

Its actually hard to get the issue.

Apparently you need:

  1. To try and swap shields before accepting into your party
  2. Be playing as a demon hunter
  3. and something else

and you needed all three things to make it happen

Its been patched out

Played almost 4 hours and got my barb to lvl 14. Storing quite a bit of wizardly stuff for my next toon in that shared chest (which needs to be bigger, but I hate to drop 10k gold on it yet).

Man this sucks - finally get home from work, we play an hour, and BOOM…only made it to level 5 so far as our monk/demon hunter combo.

Between stash slots and leveling the crafting guy, there’s definitely some money sinks in D3. I kind of like that. D2 had nothing to spend gold on early in the game, so this makes the game more interesting to me.

I am so glad that I waited. I would rather send some money to another game. This sounds like one of the biggest rip-offs of all time with 12 hours of game play, a boring set of characters, and an insane set of security.

Next question. What use are the followers apart from being meat shields?

Please don’t rub it in. ;-)

I know I’ll certainly miss you. You sound like a barrel of laughs.

You can technically change region to Asia right now and play if you’re really hungry. Note of course that your keybinds and characters and stash/gold do not carry over. (Options > Account, then change Region)

12 hours of gameplay? A boring set of characters? You don’t even have the game, how do you know these things? You must have a very interesting epistemological philosophy.

I’ll give you the last one though, to stomach it you need to convince your brain to approach it like a MMO.

I’m as annoyed by the battlenet issues as anyone else is, but I played with some friends for several hours tonight before I finally was booted, and I thought it was pretty amazing. If you like Diablo type games. People should be able to play it offline, absolutely, but when it’s working, it’s a great experience. IMO.

12 hours of game play? WTF are you talking about? Who the hell bought D3 expecting only to play 1 character through normal mode and call it done? No one, that’s who. I will be playing this for months to come. Well worth the $60 especially compared to some other AAA titles out there with truly limited game play.

ugh, mother in law just went home an hour ago. Thought “woot, finally able to crack this baby open”…and find the login servers down. Lame…

I haven’t even played the game yet. Been watching the Act I cinematic a few times. It’s very pretty.

yep…

Sigh.
