My WD just turned 28, and holy crap, is Flaming Skulls (if that’s the name) a freaking fantastic power.

Not only do these skulls bounce from mob to mob, but they go around corners, and can be lobbed like indirect fire. I just hid behind an overturned wagon and killed 16 mobs without any of them getting a direct shot off on me. Of course, then I accidentally shot a barrel, and the skull bounced over to my overturned wagon and blew it up in my face, but whatever!

Still the only way to play the Wizard like a man:

Legendaries are certainly rare by any measure. I’m farming Act 1 in Inferno, with 50 hours played, and I’ve yet to see one drop. That’s rare.

The fact that I can see Legendaries on the AH doesn’t really change that given their pricing. I’m playing the AH off and on but not enough to make that much money (for now I’m just sniping good items for myself). For the price of one decent Legendary I could outfit myself with several suits of great level 60 gear. That’s rare.

I love this skill but it peaks way too early in regards to runes. Flash Fire (the chain bouncing rune) just seems superior to all the other ones I have unlocked, and it is certainly the most fun to watch of the lot.

I’m not sure why there seems to be a strange hang-up on the term “rare”. Is this the first Blizzard game you’ve played? Do you get all up in arms over “uncommon” items in WoW not actually being uncommon? Rare is what they’ve arbitrarily decided to label their yellow items, that’s it, full stop. Yes, they do drop fairly often. Good ones are still kind of rare, though, and great yellows are extremely rare indeed.

I’ve had one Legendary drop. It was bloody awful. I put it on the AH anyway just in case people get bowled over by the colour.

Gah. I got disconnected randomly again today! And I didn’t even know it until a few minutes later when I ran into an “unfinished” portion of the map that looked like this: http://imgur.com/Rikwd

I was beginning to think the map was bugged when I finally got the disconnection error. :(

Don’t jump!

Oh yeah I definitely would have hit leap into there to see what happened.

I see you have a similar build to mine with the exception of that damage reduction ability. I just use lifesteal 3% passive and the crit passive for axes.

What I’m still trying to figure out is if the weapons master passive will give you the bonus damage from your sword while giving a bonus crit for one axe, and if that crit will then apply to the sword.

I feel that way about the demon hunter’s hungering arrow. I love hiding around a corner and firing off in safety. If they round the corner open up with rapid fire, and than vault away when they get to close. It’s an amazingly fun feeling to be able to do.

Well, it basically was a wall. I couldn’t go past any of it.

Most of the abilities I use have some kind of “steal life” rune on them and do damage to large groups of enemies. I realllllly love Leap with the Call of Arreat ability that draws all the surrounding enemies into you from where you landed off the leap. And then you can just rip into all of the mobs with the other abilities. My god is that satisfying. :D

I also use the lifesteal passive as well as the one that buffs your armor. Those are almost necessary in order for me to survive some of the elite mobs. I got a mob recently that tore my shit up. It has illusion plus those fire chain things. It created like 10 of itself and spammed that chain crap everywhere. Took me about 5 tries to get them all down. :(

I’m loving the variety of the elites though. I’m finding that I actually have to use my head to defeat them instead of just standing there and clicking madly until they die.

It’s based on the MH weapon. “Gain a bonus to the weapon type of your main hand weapon”.

I got my first legendary drop!

Didn’t even have to stash it, just put it right on. Clearly they should lower the drop rate.

Hey, that’s nice…my HC wizard would LOVE that.

I picked up “Wirt’s Original Leg” today. Stats weren’t awesome, but it was nice to see the shout-out.

Yeah the problem with Revenge and Frenzy lifesteal runes (that’s how I have it set up) is that it gives nothing for small packs of elites where things don’t die quickly or don’t hit you enough to make the Revenge proc useful.

Shit I must have missed that part of the text. Thanks for the info!

Yeah! It’s really hard to balance between large groups of mobs, elites, and bosses. Typically you want lots of AOE for mobs, lots of survivability for elites, and lots of damage output for bosses. So I guess my solution is to try and have a little bit of everything, but it’s still incredibly hard at times.

I’m kind of waiting until I hit max level to really start experimenting with the other abilities I haven’t even touched yet to see if they’re more viable.

So… I just sat in the queue for ages, got two error messages (25007 and 3009? Maybe I interposed some numbers? Clicked through too fast. When I logged in past the frontend again (ie, main login) it prompted me to create a new character. Which made a bit more sense when I saw that my L10 monk and L7 wizard had apparently vanished. Any insights?

EDIT: Actually, I bet I know. When I was queuing for ages and ages I noticed in the settings section that I was set to European servers instead of Americas, and toggled it over. I suppose I don’t get to carry over my heroes?

my level 35 barb , playing nightmare , i am very tanky with over 5000hp

Ok, I laughed: The achievement for killing Kulle on Hardcore difficulty is: “Kulle Story, Bro.”
