Damn. Did you have any random people join your games? I’d contact blizzard straight away, I know they can help in terms of WoW hacking.

btw - check out thisHelp, I got hacked section at battlenet
That sucks balls. Sorry, man. I changed my password after the reports started coming out even though I already had the authenticator. I guess nothing you can do makes any difference at this point.

Agreed that crafting is a bust. Maybe it will be useful for the next guy I level up. The worst thing about the auction house is that it’s addictive. Once you upgrade your gear from the AH, you’re that much less likely to find better gear from drops. So then once it’s been a while before you’ve found anything you can use from drops, it’s off to the AH again.
Yeah, I have pissed away a bunch on crafting as I am a crafting whore in all games. Also, I bought a rare sword for like 4,000g maybe 10 levels ago and at level 31 and I am still using it. If I was not having so much fun, I would be a lot more bummed. I am actively staying away from the AH in my run through Normal. Once I move up and start dying a lot, I’ll cave and start in with the AHing.
I have read at multiple sources that it’s joining public games that is getting people hacked - someone is able to do something with the session ID to log in as you and get around the authenticator/mobile security. I only play by myself or with people on my friends list, I never join public games, so if I end up getting hacked I guess I’ll know that didn’t make a difference! :)
Lord, did you join a public game at any point?
Only friends in my games so far, and a few Qt3ers.
Talking about recipes: how / where do you find them? I have a level 35 monk on nightmare and a level 11 demon hunter in normal and have yet to see any recipe drops. Have maxed the blacksmith and gem dealer so far…
Supposedly it’s session key hijacking by other players joining your game. I’m not entirely convinced of that myself but I guess it can’t hurt to avoid playing with anyone else.
So the key to not getting hacked in an online only game is to not play with anyone else. Brilliant. ;)
That’s something someone on the Blizz forums just made up…someone just said it, and now it’s somehow become truth. Funny how that happens.
Well I am all set up, I have the mobile authenticator now that prompts me for key from my phone every time I join battle.net. I also reset my email password , just in case. (I would suggest not using the phone dial in authenticator, as it only tells you if your account has been compromised, and for me it didn’t even do that.)
Also this link provided the best direction:

6.3 million copies in the first week:
Lordkosc, you have it set to require authentication every time you logged in and this still happened? Holy cats.
I can shoot you some cash to buy replacements if Blizzard doesn’t roll your character back for you.
So how do you use the in-game AH? I haven’t seen anything in-game that mentions it. Not the RMAH, the game-money one.
Does blizzard/battle.net have the thing Steam has where you can set it to only log in from a specific IP address, or would that not have helped? I would love a place to specify the mac address I’m logging in from, and then adding mac address to that list for each device I run Diablo III from, for example.
It’s on the front menu, bottom item below the “resume game” button you have clicked on endlessly. :)
Good news for Blizzard.
It’s a funny feeling, I feel kind of left behind :P. As you already know I’m a pc gamer, I play lots of genres… but I am not very interested in Diablo 3. And this specifc game has to be the one to revitalize pc gaming (for the mainstream) with millions of units sold.
I seriously was not interested either until someone gave me my first taste with the Starter Edition. BleedtheFreak said, “Hey I got a code”. I figured what the hell. I am not even sure why it is so fun. It is a lot of clicking and key mashing resulting in explodey things and showers of colors on the ground. 5 days later, I am in Act IV with a Level 31 Barbarian and an unhealthy (and unrewarding) crafting habit.
And that total does not include the 1.2 million given to people for making the 12-month WoW commitments.
TurinTur, like Tyjenks said, we’ve all got trial codes (or anyone with the CE at least). If you want to set what the flap is about, sure we can help out in that regard.
