Maybe the dude doing the itemizacion have a strange sense of humour that is woooooosh flying over our head.
Another stupid question probably but:
I see screenshots of people showing their characters in a browser like the Wow Armory for WoW incl their gear / stats and achievements.
I tried to find that site (Diablo Armory?) but couldn’t.
Any hints? :)
Wow, so I was waiting for level 20 to change my DPS/attack flavor for Wizard (as folks mentioned would happen), but level 15 came around and I got …DARK SIDE FORCE POWER. At 16, I picked up Glass Cannon as a passive, and now I’m just taking things out as they appear at the edge of the screen. I haven’t been hit in I don’t know how long.
I miss normal difficulty, where everything was always viable.
Yeah, I hope Blizzard maybe rejigs some of the skills to provide more variety. My Wizard effectively has 5 ability slots, because not using Diamond Skin with Crystal Shell is just a straight up bad idea. It’s just plain better than every other defensive skill or runestone. And then Magic Weapon is almost a requirement too as the DPS bonus is so significant.

I prefer the Sparkflint familiar, actually. 12% boost (vs 10% for most enchanted weapon runes) and also fires it’s own projectiles for 20% damage. My wizard isn’t high enough to get the Blood Magic rune, though, I might switch back to it for that.
I dunno how it’s calculated but I think when I tested it magic weapon somehow added more damage than sparkflint. I’d have to double-check that though. I used both until hell though, when I needed more defensive skills.
They’re both multiplicative boosts, so running both of them is a definite “yes” if you can.
Yeah, sparkflint + magic weapon + glass cannon is definite win. Should be a 50% damage boost in total. I guess you could add the 20% from the frost damage passive on too if you were using the ice beam or blizzard. Leaves you a bit squishy though.
Before i get too attached to him; is it possible so solo the game with a Monk?
I mean Nightmare, Hell and Inferno.
I’m in Nightmare, Act II, with a level 40 monk and still able to solo. Some groups of elites are incredibly tough though, and will chew through me pretty easily. Molten, desecrator and arcane are the worst.
Forums (and the SC2 “pros” I follow on twitter who are playing this instead of practicing) generally hold that the melee classes are basically fucked in Inferno because they can’t really achieve high DPS at range and the damage reduction doesn’t offset that well enough. As such, they can’t kite, which is pretty much necessary when light rain 1-shots you in Inferno.
Then again, you could just “beat” inferno like the streamers on Twitch by death leapfrogging or forward retreating your way to the end boss; that should work with any class and a lot of patience. Yeah, somehow those guys didn’t provide as much entertainment value as I was hoping for last week -.-
I could see how melee DPS wouldn’t keep up. My overall DPS is already noticeably lower than, say, a mage’s even on Nightmare.
It allows you to own multiple copies of the item, but you can only equip one per character. The concept of a unique item without the equipped flag fails with the shared stash. I assume they just put that flag on all legendaries.
Hehe, looks like you missed the joke. :) It’s a helm.
No, I got it, I was just explaining why that flag exists.

From what I’ve seen of the legendary items, I’m not sure why anyone would even want to equip two of the same item. Or even one of them really, since they’d likely have a rare available that’s better anyways.
Legendaries are just rares with pre-specified names and types of stats. The stat values are random, just like rares.

I noticed this behavior even with 3s smoke screen: while you definitely drop aggro, there’s a chance they will continue walking in your direction. This got me killed a few times while farming chests in Act II pre-hotfix and I expect with 1.5s SS it will be even more of an issue.
Blizzard addresses a bunch of stuff including outright calling the “session ID” rumors bullshit:
Over the past couple of days, players have expressed concerns over the possibility of Battle.net® account compromises. First and foremost, we want to make it clear that the Battle.net and Diablo III servers have not been compromised. In addition, the number of Diablo III players who’ve contacted customer service to report a potential compromise of their personal account has been extremely small. In all of the individual Diablo III-related compromise cases we’ve investigated, none have occurred after a physical Battle.net Authenticator or Battle.net Mobile Authenticator app was attached to the player’s account, and we have yet to find any situation where a Diablo III player’s account was accessed outside of “traditional” compromise methods (i.e. someone logging using an account’s login email and password).
To that end, we’ve also seen discussions regarding the possibility of account compromises occurring in ways that didn’t involve these “traditional” methods – for example, by “session spoofing” a player’s identity after he or she joins a public game. Regarding this specific example, we’ve looked into the issue and found no evidence to indicate compromises are occurring in this fashion, and we’ve determined the methods being suggested to do so are technically impossible. However, you have our assurance that we’ll continue to investigate reports such as these and keep you informed of important updates.
