Pure awesome. Laughed so hard it hurt. Thank you for this. :)
I should not have inventory full of stuff like “socketed ring” (nothing but a socket) or “+9 exp from monsters”. I’m literally finding a lot of the same gear in Hell as I was in Normal.
The funniest example is the socketed ring that has a level requirement of 50+.
The exact same ring that dropped with a level 20 requirement in Normal.
That’s pretty cool. I got a crummy legendary and when I looked on the AH some people were listing variations of it for a 5K buyout. :/
On another topic: After struggling in Hell Act 2 with all the crazy champion packs that were giving me no end of trouble (stuff like Fire Chains - Molten - Fast or Arcane-Horde-whatever) I boosted my Fire resist and switched my passive to the Monk one that makes all your resists equal to your highest one. Plus I’ve switched to some more defensive skills. Those changes have made a world of difference - now when I see a champion pack or an elite I don’t feel that sinking feeling in my stomach, because I have a chance to take them down without dying. So it’s back to more fun and less frustration.
I’m now cruising in Hell Act 3 and things are going pretty well. Looking forward to getting crushed in Inferno soon!
Anyone have any insights into the battle.net forums? I still can’t post there in the Diablo III forums, because it only has my expired WoW profile, and there seems no way to switch that to Diablo III. The only characters that show up are my old WoW characters, and though I realize full support for Diablo avatars in the profile thing isn’t in yet, clearly other people are able to post and stuff. It’s as if battle.net doesn’t recognize that I have a Diablo battletag or anything–my battletag doesn’t show up in the profile at all.
Unfortunately, I can’t help you - except to say that I had the same problem and I COULD switch my avatar to my D3 tag name.
So, if you can’t do that - I think it’s time to contact support.

From my one data point, I’d say there’s a legendary premium on the AH. My one drop was no better than a rare that would fetch 5k-10k, but it sold for 50k very quickly.
I’ve sold 2 legendaries and a set item at a price that was quite a bit higher than the lowest prices available.
I’m not sure if it’s intentional - but given the limitations of the search function in the AH - it’s very easy to miss ideal items, and just see a few listings that match search criteria.
It should be possible tailor your search to EACH potential criteria - but apparently, Blizzard can’t/won’t provide that.
Also, I don’t know how many times I’ve seen a perfect item at a VERY low price with the 2D remaining - and have it time-out when buying. Pretty frustrating and an annoying mini-game in itself.
Probably not good for Bliz - but it would be nice to setup auto-purchasing if an item matches your set criterias at at or below a price you decide (on a first-come first-go basis). But it would require a more elaborate set of criteria.
There. That one word: set. Does that confirm what I so far haven’t been able to confirm, namely that set (D2; green) items are indeed still in the game? Or did you mean something else, DKD?
While it may be true that Act I items can drop in Act IV, the frequency is much, much less. I got the false impression that I would be getting the same loot from Act IV of hell as I did in Act I of Inferno and out of the 7 or 8 rares that I got (a very low number comparatively), NONE were level 60. Almost half the rares I find in Act I are 60. It’s very rare to see a champion/elite NOT drop a rare, in Act IV hell it was the opposite.
So, there’s really no comparison in terms of the frequency of quality loot between them. Definitely stick to Act I of Inferno for loot farming if you can.
The plans for the legendary “Longshot” bow dropped on my Nightmare run through Act I.
I checked and only one was on AH for 500k.
Then I remembered that I don’t want to participate in this AH and gave it to my blacksmith.
Now my level 18 Demon Huntress runs around with a lvl 18 legendary bow.
I got my achievement and all is well and good. Might throw it on the AH at some time cheap so some other person can get the achievement as well.
No biggie as I can produce more for 200 dusts and I think 70 teeth mats + 13k Gold or something.
What about secret “Rainbow land” for farming?
I heard that loot is kickass there and I see people offering runs for gold through it.
I still need 2 mats for the staff myself (have the receipe, mushrooms and rainbow vial so far).
Yeah, I sent in a ticket. I guess I’ll see what happens. Not a big deal as I don’t care much about the forums, but it just irks me. I bought the game, I have an authenticator, I play by their little rules, and they still can’t make the experience at the very least uneventful.

Green set items are in the game.
Thank you, that is a relief. As I intend to not use the AH, that alone will be an incentive to keep playing for a long while! :-)
They exist, but the drop rate is crazy low. By crazy low, I mean significantly lower than legendaries.
Agreed. Since I started watching, I’ve seen Kungen with ~3-4 Legendaries but only 1 Set Item. And this guy’s been doing nothing but farm inferno for days. I kinda miss the old sets from D2. . . wondering how powerful a fully stacked Set would be in D3.
Now here’s a weird one for you… After the patch the other day, I logged in and found a dead Hardcore level 30-something DH on my roster, with the name of my actual Hardcore DH (who is lower level). It was…odd…but I figured it was just a weirdness. So I deleted the dead not-me. Unfortunately, as I logged in today, what I can’t find is my 30-ish softcore mode Monk, who was in Nightmare Act I. Apparently…it was her that I deleted, even though what was being displayed was this phantom hardcore character. Oy vey. It’s not that bad–hell, normal softcore isn’t hard to beat, and really I had little investment in that character–but still, argh.
Who doesn’t want a Horadric Hamburger?
Yup. It’s real. There are all sorts of jokey stuff in the rainbow easter egg area.
