At 1 a.m., he allegedly killed his mother, Sarah, 40, while she slept. His 9-year-old brother, Zephania, was “awake and distraught” when he was slain soon after. A 2-year-old, Angelina, was sleeping when she was shot. A 5-year-old girl, Jael, was awake when she was killed.

The suspect sent the girl a photo of his dead mother after he shot her around 1 a…m, and he spent most of Saturday – after ambushing his father at 6 a.m. and until he went to his church at 8 p.m. – with her, officials said.

Court documents say that the teen envisioned dying in a firefight with law enforcement after the killings.

The teen, who will be arraigned in Albuquerque on Tuesday afternoon, began planning the murders a week ago, and his blood lust went beyond his family, police said.

Learning to be Captain America would be a good idea.
Presently the people “chosen” to carry a weapon in public go thru stringent tests, psyche evals, and training. As a parent I want to think of teachers as wonderful stable people who calmly teach my child. But I also remember that as a teen I kept some teachers pretty close to the crashing edge. Arming THOSE teachers is a scary thought to me considering the thoughts that I am sure I put into their brains every hour they spent with me.

A massive boycott sparked by the NRA and other gun-rights groups outraged that the nation’s largest outdoors show banned the exhibition of assault weapons has caused the show’s organizers to abruptly cancel the week-long event in Harrisburg, Pa.

This is, in every way, false. I’m usually not privy to how these things go because I don’t really follow the industry, but I’ve been getting enough links through Facebook to watch the progression of this issue. First, the boycott wasn’t organized. Over the last few weeks smaller and then larger industry members decided to pull out. There wasn’t outrage, just a calm explanation that the decision to ban certain types of guns from the show wasn’t something the makers and users of those guns could support. The NRA never even came into it. There was no “sparking,” the NRA was one of the last to cancel.

I think the NRA is more of a boogeyman for the left than a force for the right at this point. This might also answer the occasional cry of “why does the NRA have so much power if it only has 4 million members?” It probably doesn’t. Gun owners in general, however, do.

Note that spree killers have no problem bringing lots of magazines with them. They’ll have plenty of rounds. But I’m still amazed he heard anything realistic about the effect of added reload time.

Biden says he supports a ban on assault weapons, though he acknowledges they don’t account for a large portion of gun deaths in America. He says a ban would solve part of the gun violence problem, particularly for police who can be outgunned by criminals with assault weapons.
This, however, is probably my least concern in the entire universe. Every police force in the country gets a little more militarized each year. They’ll have no problem outgunning anyone, especially after the SWAT team rolls up in the APC. This isn’t Mexico.

Well I dont remember too many of them having military training so I mean “less than movies and games” efficiency. And many had their clips in bags. I have military training and even my changing a clip would be a chance for someone.

I dont know if someones choice would be attack or flee or grab their cell phone or whatever. But it still sounds like something more than “it wouldnt mean shit so why bother”. Not saying I like the law things, I just think the arguments could be better.
