See that’s exactly what I would think would be the proper position to be in (the first scenario). You’d want to behind them with one hand ready and easily able to move in and secure the weapon before anything bad happened.
No, Houngan.
And yes, that’s…well…wince-worthy.

What I don’t know about this craze for weapons in america, is if the desire is to be the aggressor or the victim of weapons.
Another place where weapons are incredible popular is israel. And probably Surafrica under the apartheid era.
…No. 7.3 private guns/100 people, about halfway down a ranked list of countries on that.
America has 97 private guns/100 people.
Want to remove your foot from your mouth now?

A friend visited israel this july, he said people is acustomed to weapons and people walk around with weapons like if they where normal stuff.
He shared photos of warning messages with “don’t enter the supermarket with dogs, guns or smoking”.
So weapons in israel seems to be a fact of everyday life … like mobil phones for other people.
I am not sure why your stat contradict that. Maybe is completelly made up by the people to published it?, maybe is the jews that have all the weapons, so that unbalance the stat? or weapons are not really registered.
He also talked about this:
Its illegal for israelly people to enter a palestinian town, even if the israelly is palestinian. But also, the messages warn, you will likelly be murdered.
He talked about of really creepy stuff. Like the travel organizer was a Sefardy ( jew that was expelled from spain in the 1400-ish, that still talk some old version of spanish), she talking about how great would be to drop a rocket on top the muslim church, like if she where talking about visiting the vet with his pet.
Teiman - practically every adult in Israel has been through military training due to a conscription policy. That’s likely why they all are quite comfortable around weapons: training. Honestly, that’s something that seems to be in short supply in the United States.
That’d be people doing mandatory army service. Three years, and you are obliged to carry your service weapon with you at all times. (Period)
If you think about it, there are good reasons for it.
There are very very few Ladino speakers left (thanks in good part to the holocaust), most of whom are elderly, unfortunately. That’s not what really defines the Sephardi, it’s their lineage from Iberia, which comes with a slightly different set of traditions than the European-descended Ashkenazi. (And I note both Spain and Portugal recently passed laws of return for them, which is being taken up in significant numbers because it bestows an EU passport…)
And you found a political nut? Okay. All countries have them.

That must be anoying, considering these warning messages about “don’t enter here with a weapon”. How you manage? do they have small armories where people can put is weapon? do you buy milk and bread with your shotgun on your arm?
How people manage in beachs? do pretty hot ladies take sunbaith with a automatic rifles with them?
How I imagine israel:
Pretty hot people and guns
Um … Teiman? Are you feeling okay?
Yes, you see girls in the army out having a good evening, in a dress, with a SMG slung over their shoulder. (You can have the weapon locked up in the base armoury, but practically the paperwork means you’d only do that if you had a reasonable amount of leave, not just an evening)
You turn your gun in at the end of your service, though, and there’s not a gun culture in the same way as the US - as I said, private ownership is low, and you need to show cause for a permit (like many EU nations).

Could this be misleading because it’s private guns vs. those supplied by the government to reservists? I honestly don’t know the answer, but I thought Israel was like Switzerland in that every reservist was required to keep his/her weapon at home.
No, actually. You hand your gun in at the end of service. There are armouries located such that guns can be issued very rapidly as people report for duty, certainly.

It seems very misleading of you to try and push statistics that show a low amount of gun ownership, but then point out how common it is for people to go on a night out with an SMG slung over your shoulder…
(ps: I agree with Tieman, after reading your description and his I really do imagine that video to be a how Israelis go about their daily life, guns in tow!)
According to the stats on wikipedia (which look to be the place you got them from) the UK has almost identical guns/capita… but in the UK if you saw any sign about guns not being allowed that would be utterly bizzarre. The only people that have them are farmers or the police. Some people walking into a club with a gun would be the most bizarre and scary thing and would result in 50 armed police officers turning up.
So clearly, if that happens in Isreal as you state it does, then they’re ok with guns, as Tieman states and you claim is wrong?
There’s a difference between private gun ownership, and military service which people do for three years - and then hand the gun in. Those pictures are because people don’t expect to see people carrying guns on short leaves, rather than any indicator that they’re common, or there is an American kind of gun culture. There are real threats to Israel, and given the distances involved there’s good reason for active-duty members to carry firearms!
Take the Swiss, where they DO retain their service weapons after serving, but don’t have a gun culture either…
And there is no “UK” figure.
England/Scotland/Wales, you only find private guns in rural areas, at a rate of 5.9 private guns /100 people and primarily by farmers and other rural shotgun and rifle owners.
Northern Ireland? 21.1 private guns/100 people. Mostly handguns (rifles are highly restricted still), and self-defence is a valid reason for a licence unlike E/S/W.

Another unfortunate kid kills other kid incident.
I put this in the Taken 3 thread, but it can go here too.
Liam Neeson told Dubai Gulf News that there are too many guns in the US.
“There’s too many fucking guns out there … especially in America. I think the population is, like, 320 million? There’s over 300 million guns. Privately owned, in America. I think it’s a fucking disgrace. Every week now we’re picking up a newspaper and seeing, ‘Yet another few kids have been killed in schools.’”
PARA USA, the gun supplier for Taken 3 was not amused.
“PARA USA regrets its decision to provide firearms for use in the film Taken 3. While the film itself is entertaining, comments made by its Irish-born star during press junkets reflect a cultural and factual ignorance that undermines support of the Second Amendment and American liberties.”
“We will no longer provide firearms for use in films starring Liam Neeson and ask that our friends and partners in Hollywood refrain from associating our brand and products with his projects. Further, we encourage our partners and friends in the firearms industry to do the same.”
Oh, no! Where will Liam find guns for his next movie?
