All-purpose gun legislation thread

In most states, parents can be held liable for damages intentionally caused by a minor child. In some states, they can be held liable for damages caused by accident.

With that in mind:

Per the BBC:

Denver Police Department said the agent “was dancing at a nightclub when his firearm became dislodged from its waistband holster and fell on to the floor. When the agent retrieved his handgun an unintended discharge occurred”.

A sort-of-serious question to the crowd here: Is there such a thing as a “waistband holster”, or is that just police-speak for “jammed in his pants”? It does kind of look like there is something black above his belt when he does the flip, but that could just be dark underwear.

Yes, there are all kinds of crazy holsters. I’ve seen crotch holsters for sale at gun shows.

Obviously he should not have been carrying his gun while drinking and dancing. Gross negligence.

Sure, almost all concealed carry holsters would probably fall under that category.

Do a handstand while using that thing and your gun is gonna be on the floor.

Why is no one promoting floor gun ownership in defense of these handstanders? Only a good floor with a gun can stop this sort of potential tragedy.

Little did John know, Hawaii doesn’t fuck around:

Facing potential life in prison, though given his apparently health, age and stupidity, 10 years would probably be life to this fuckwit.

Someone is finally stepping up to stop mitigate school shootings.

Unequal Technologies, a sportswear company based in a nearby Philadelphia suburb, donated the 10-by-12-inch plates to each of the students as they prepared to break before starting high school.

The backpack plates, a new offering from a company known for protective sportswear, have been shown to resist ammunition, including a 9 mm full metal jacket round, a .44 Magnum round, and birdshot fired from a 12-gauge shotgun, the company said. They’re about a quarter-inch thick, weigh 20 ounces and also protect against shrapnel and knife attacks.

The company also gave 25 of the “Safe Shield” plates, which retail for $149.95, to faculty members. Schools can purchase the shields for $99.

That’s a lot of money for a piece of metal.

Yea, they know this, so they’re offering a 30-day money back guarantee for your heirs to collect on if it doesn’t work.

*We Stand Behind Any Unequal Product. Try it For 30 Days. If it doesn’t perform as we say, if you are not satisfied for any reason, simply return it (as per our return instructions found at the bottom of any of our web pages) for a prompt and courteous refund, no questions asked. This guarantee is limited to any product bought through this website.

If the kid kills his dad and cuts off his finger, then he can use the finger on the gun. Who do we sue in this case?

Ginsu.

The finger.

Really funny movie. Time to see if it holds up.

They should have felony charges for those who SWAT anyone, ruin their lives and maybe they’ll stop putting people in the line of fire for giggles.

In many states swatting is a felony if it results in injury/property damage, or if it is a second offense.

Injury or not, it should be severely punishable. They shouldn’t get-off simply because everyone was lucky and no one got hurt. It needs to be no laughing matter no matter the outcome.

Pretty much. I suspect it wont happen most places until a cop gets hurt or killed though.
