Shooting in Dayton tonight as well.
I’m really glad this was posted Frankly it is passed time the government started treating 4chan and 8chan like an ISIS internet channel. Let bring out the all the anti-terrorism surveillance and money laundering laws to bear. I want their emails and text monitored and their bank account frozen.
These folks are convinced there is a government conspiracy out to get them lets make it so.
If the @bellingcat article is correct they are treating this whole thing as a sick GTA experience and trying to get high score on the body counts. At minimum which should insist that medium refuse to mention their name. Frankly, I like everyone of the murders digital history to be erased ala 1984. Every social media account deleted, every forum reference vanish, every wiki mention erased, every news article about the destroyed and every youtube post taken down. Success would be defined as when you goggle their name they’ve become a non-person. I think depriving these bastard of any glory would as effective punishment as we could create.
I like this in theory at least. But our society thrives on notoriety. Much of our pop culture is based on violence and its glorification. Like the line in Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood, where the Manson cultist says that theirs was a generation taught to kill by a media machine that turned out mostly movies and TV shows about murder.
America has a White Nationalist Problem
From May.

Today, domestic extremist violence outpaces Islamist extremism, and the character of the threat has changed dramatically in the last three years. Right-wing extremists and international jihadists from the last decade have many parallels and some differences. Al Qaeda networked its supporters on websites, YouTube, and in web forums. The Islamic State followed suit on Facebook and Twitter before being kicked off those platforms, and then descended on the lesser-policed app Telegram. Today, white supremacists—having been largely pushed off mainstream social media platforms—use obscure sites like Gab and 8Chan to network, radicalize, share philosophies, and celebrate attacks. At the group’s height, the Islamic State’s social media posts traveled widely and were empowered by global legions of supporters who further distributed the group’s message. Today, white supremacists have grown so highly networked online that the Facebook Live video posted by New Zealand mosque shooter Brenton Harrison Tarrant was removed 1.2 million times at upload, and then another 300,000 copies were removed after posting. The Islamic State never achieved such an intense and capable network of online support.
Edit: From July 31st, before this deadly weekend:
I couldn’t handle Texas. Even assuming most people aren’t planning on using those weapons, no way I’d trust those dipshits to handle them safely.

Police responded to Dayton shooting in less than a minute. In that minute the angry white loser was able to hit 30+ people with bullets.
It’s a maladjusted male problem, yes. But it’s also clearly a gun problem. He wouldn’t have been able to do that with a knife or sword.
The Western world has one, I’d say, and it’s become increasingly evident since 2011. But law enforcement lags behind even in countries that take the problem seriously. And when you have a President like Trump (and now a PM like Boris), the problem just becomes a lot harder to deal with.

I’d like to suggest that this is a dramatic understatement and posit that for the Right, these white nationalist shooters are a feature, not a bug.
Not only do they spread a Right-approved message that white is right, they also prove that white is might, and they keep people scared.
Bonus points for the fact that the NRA is still able to deliver the message that more people with guns is the right solution, so donations keep coming.
So while Trump might not have personally ordered the “Code Red,” he knows that they serve an important purpose in his crusade.

9 dead even with “good guys with guns” within 1 minute.
Conservatives: Violent video games cause these attacks.
Also Conservatives: Social Justice Warriors want to ruin our violent video games.

I’m saddened by these attacks back to back like this. We’re spiraling down a path that isn’t good. Sadly, we’ll move on from this so it’ll just be another marker. “Back in 2019, two attacks in 24 hours was a first. Now …”
If we can get a sane President in the White House, I’m hoping and praying that an executive order or three will finally get both parties jumping into action, even if only to try to supersede it with law that dismisses the executive order. Anything to motivate these fucks that only seem to care about getting reelected and acquiring more wealth for themselves.
Dayton shooter identified as a 24 year old white male according to law enforcement. Imagine my utter shock.

Can’t imagine where the El Paso shooter got the idea to target immigrants
