I have been enjoying Feral Hog Twitter all day. It has been magnificent.

My favorite part of the subtext though: Jason Isbell (of Drive By Truckers fame) grew up in unincorporated northern Alabama next to the farm own by his grandparents. Dude is acting like he’s addressing some city slicker…

There was also a very striking (and upsetting) photo of a starving girl from the Yemeni war that was given a prominent place in the New York Times.

Oh, I have no doubt.

Maybe he’ll cut his own head off.

Also, Hannity has thoughts.

That would comfort me, at least.

Eh, it’s more effective in motivating politicians. Thing is they’re pretty insulated from the public so it’s not like it’s as easy and walking into a Walmart and mowing down children.

So I agree with this, but at the same time there is a difference between feeling safe with security at like a public greet and meet and feeling safe walking from your car into your house or the like.

There is a subset of the right that has thought this shit through. You can’t fight the Army. But politicians, their families, the families of soldiers and officers? Those are generally easy targets especially in a place like the US. A gate community isn’t really secure, it’s the illusion of security. It’s some Al-Qaeda-level thinking, but no one ever said militia guys in Montana were that far off of them. An insurgency is an insurgency.

The French nobility thought they were safe and had plenty of security until the Bastille got stormed and heads started getting lopped off after all.

That’s just insane. I just can’t picture anyone listening to that and thinking “sure, that’s how we should run the country — that’s the kind of society we want to live in.”

I realize we’re not dealing with rational people, so rational arguments aren’t going to make a difference. But the Dayton police chief said that the Dayton shooter was taken down within 30 seconds by three nearby police officers. He still killed 9 innocent people and injured another 5. Three “good guys with a gun” nearby still resulted in nine innocent deaths and five other people shot.

Officers in the Gilroy shooting engaged the shooter within one minute. He still killed three and injured 12 others.

Every Democrat needs to plaster this on every campaign ad.

He only used one magazine. Unfortunately it looked like this

And the guys who stopped him, in 30 seconds, were cops… All these ideas of random heros with guns stopping a guy like this before he can kill a ton of people are nonsense.

Or in el paso… Tons of people there had guns. The dude still killed 30 people.

I think the wannabe CCW heroes are heavily influenced by movies and TV, dreaming of hostage scenarios where a bad guy is monologuing.

But that’s not what’s happening…the shooters are just opening fire and leaving their manifestos online to be found later.

Hannity’s plan makes sense. If everyone is shooting at everyone else all the time, then soon we will all be dead and the righteous will be in Heaven.

10 days??? I give it under 24 hours.

They are already making hay out of the Ohio shooter being (supposedly) on the political left. Although he reads more as an incel than anything else.
